English Heritage in the North East aim to promote a greater understanding & enjoyment of the historic environment to educational groups. We offer learning groups FREE ENTRY to 400 + venues, along with free planning visits, property information, useful online resources, and educational facilities.

Canal and River Tours Stratford Upon Avon provide school trips and educational groups with a fully interactive educational tour experience along a river packed full of wildlife and nature, historical history with facts and topics about Shakespeare and the Industrial Revolution including a 200 hundred year old working lock.

Mount Cook Outdoor Residential Adventure Centre in the Peak District Derbyshire, offers schools and educational groups a wide-range of adventure enrichment activities in the great outdoors with many years of experience and highly trained instructors. Accommodation consists of 140 beds across 35 bedrooms with ensuite shower room, plus glamping pods to sleep 40. (Group sizes up to 180)

Celtic Harmony Camp, the UK’s largest Iron Age settlement, provides a program of Prehistory Residential and Day trips covering Stone, Bronze and Iron Age Britain. Immerse your class in Ancient Britain with hands-on outdoor experiential learning!

Henley Fort is a Victorian Fort built during the late 19th Century to protect London from invasion by the French; later it was used by the Home Guard in World War 2 as a re-supply depot. It is now an outdoor education facility offering groups a chance to take part in challenging activities or a living historical experience. We are open seven days a week, all year round for both day and residential visits, perfect for all school ages. (Group sizes up to 100)

Parkwood Outdoors Dolygaer offers high quality outdoor and adventurous activities for schools and educational groups with on site accommodation for up to 70 students and support staff. The experienced, enthusiastic team have a strong background in outdoor activities and coaching, ensuring we deliver some of the most exciting and varied activities, including, canoeing, kayaking, caving, orienteering, mountain biking, rock climbing, abseiling, plus many more.

Our educational experiences provide both learning and enrichment opportunities for students, with each visit including a 45-minute workshop and a 75-minute stadium tour.

Pinkery is Exmoor National Park’s Centre for Outdoor Learning. Built as an upland farmhouse, the original building has been expanded to create a unique moorland off-grid residential centre. located in its own wild moorland valley over 400 metres above sea level valley in the heart of Exmoor's Dark Skies Reserve. Offering 4 dorm accommodation with its own ensuite facilities and sleeps 44 so typically can cater for groups of up to 36 pupils and 8 staff , self-catering or catered kitchen with common room. We welcome groups from Key Stage 1 to University and beyond.

LEVEL1 St Mary's Stadium Educational Tours bring learning to life with a guided educational tour and optional activity experience. Apart from a guided stadium tour, pupils can rotate through hosted activities designed to support teamwork, resilience, confidence, communication, problem solving and healthy competition.

The Children at War Experience offers a unique hands-on insight into life in wartime Britain. We encourage each group to get into role and if they come dressed as an evacuee it can really add a whole new dimension to the school trip experience. The London Archives is home to a wide range of documents, images, maps, films and books about London and is dedicated to ensuring that everyone has access to history and heritage through their Learning Programme.  It is a free public archive focusing on the history of London, from 1067 to the present day.  Each educational session supports the history curriculum at KS1 through to KS4 covering topics such as great fire of London, crime & punishment, World War 2, medicine through time, medieval life and who is a Londoner.
