What we offer on a school trip
We can put together a programme that suits you. With a focus on activities, outdoor education or a mix of both.
Outdoor learning
Pinkery is ideally located for you to explore and learn in the unique environment of Exmoor National Park. Whether investigating the Bronze Age, studying our varied habitats, wildlife and conservation projects or data collection and analysis all the way up to Geography or Science GCSE or A Level, our Education team can ensure that you get the most out of a visit and meet your learning objectives.
What makes us a great choice for education
Adventure Activities
We can offer activities on site including our low ropes course, mountain biking and archery, or within a short drive you can participate in rock climbing and coasteering on the dramatic Exmoor Coast, horse riding on the moors or water sports at the well-equipped Wimbleball Lake. We are Europe’s first official Dark Skies reserve, with opportunities for an evening of breath taking star gazing.
John Muir Award
This is an environmental award scheme that encourages people to connect with, enjoy, and care for wild places like Exmoor. It’s non-competitive, inclusive and accessible. You can use this award as the framework for your weeks visit as you discover, explore and conserve the National Park. Students gain a real sense of achievement from working with us to achieve their certificate.
Study Retreat
Pinkery is great as a place to bring groups to study and interact away from the distractions of the normal school environment. This could be to develop self-confidence and teamwork, or for revision sessions to drive results improvement in key subjects.
Accreditation and Awards
Yes we have an AALA Licence – number R0093. We are also members of The Institute of Outdoor Learning.
