Outdoor Residential Centres

Much of the YHA hostel network is available for use by groups and schools. We offer both group accommodation that's great for teacher-led residentials as well as complete packages. Unless stated the hostel is bed and board only.

Ufton Court Residential Centre offers school trip accommodation that includes three residential sites, our Grade I listed Tudor Manor House, our Woodland Cabins and our treehouse camping accommodation The Longhouse. All residential visits are fully catered and one of the main aims is to inspire students to enjoy adventures connected to history and the environment on an exciting and thrilling school day out. Camping La Savane, a spacious and picturesque camp is close to the pretty French town of Ruoms. Set between two rivers in the Ardèche area of South-Eastern France, it makes the perfect base for organised activities for school groups among forests, caves, and some of Europe’s most beautiful natural scenery. With 4 Villages, Camping La Savane can cater for a maximum of 282 pupils and is offering a fully catered stay.

Thames Young Mariners is surrounded by 25 acres of public open space, which has been designated as a local nature reserve. Located near London, Thames Young Mariners is the ideal location for London borough schools and organisations to visit. We offer bespoke outdoor experiences and each visit either day or residential school trips for all school ages. (Group sizes up to 90)

Located in the Peak District National Park Crowden Outdoor Education Centre Derbyshire  provides high quality outdoor education either on a residential or day activity basis. The instructors are all qualified and experienced outdoor practitioners, students will take part in adventure activities that include; Bushcraft, DofE, rock climbing, cave exploration, kayaking, stream scrambling, zip wire, archery and team-building exercises. Accommodation comprises of 40 beds spread across 14 bedrooms.

Mount Cook Outdoor Residential Adventure Centre in the Peak District Derbyshire, offers schools and educational groups a wide-range of adventure enrichment activities in the great outdoors with many years of experience and highly trained instructors. Accommodation consists of 140 beds across 35 bedrooms with ensuite shower room, plus glamping pods to sleep 40. (Group sizes up to 180)

Sealyham Active Learning Centre is dedicated to helping students develop essential skills and character, promoting wellbeing through adventurous outdoor learning.

Rock UK Frontier Centre in Northamptonshire is an outdoor adventure centre and is passionate about developing young students by bringing adventure into learning in the outdoors. The activities are offered all year round to schools and educational groups. (Group sizes 6 to 239)

Magdalen Farm Residential Environmental Centre Dorset offers a unique 132-acre organic landscape where students can connect with nature through hands-on farming, river dipping, and woodland adventures. The site provides high-quality, flexible accommodation and delicious home-cooked meals made with fresh ingredients sourced directly from their own kitchen gardens. Their experienced teaching staff design bespoke programs that build student confidence, resilience, and teamwork through immersive outdoor learning. Additionally, the farm is highly inclusive, offering specialized facilities and activities tailored to support children with special educational needs (SEN)

Standon Bowers Outdoor Education Centre in Staffordshire provides school groups with tailored outdoor learning programmes with the chance to explore the outdoors on residentials school trips. These programmes ensure students spend time outdoors, helping them to improve their mental and physical wellbeing while enjoying exciting adventure activities such as archery, bushcraft or water sports.

Belmont Outdoor Education Centre is located about 30 minutes from both Dundee and Perth in around 100 acres of fabulous grounds and woodland. The area is an ideal school trip destination for both water sports like kayaking and canoe trips but also for walking or climbing. Belmont Residential Centre can deliver inspiring outdoor learning for students of all ages. All the outdoor activities are tailored to your school group's desires, age and ability.

Skern Adventure Residential Centre Abbotsham set in a beautiful Devon countryside near the coast, providing high-quality residential and day experiences for school groups. Skern Adventure tailor each programme to your school’s needs, working with you before and during your stay to ensure your learning objectives are met. Skern offers fully catered accommodation for groups of up to 450 students.

The Towers Active Learning Centre is located in Snowdonia National Park Wales, perfect for a residential outdoor adventure enrichment learning residential were you will explore and experience mountain expeditions, climbing and so many more outdoor activities for your students to enjoy.

Flatford Mill Field Studies Centre Colchester is the first and original field study centre set up in the UK during the 1940’s, educational students can experience a very wide range of curriculum linked topics such as natural history and art courses.

Hindleap Warren outdoor residential centre is set in 300 acres of ancient woodland in East Sussex and provides outdoor enrichment learning adventure activities and experiences to primary and secondary schools. Residential capacity sleeps 164 young people and 20 leaders which can be split into 5 separate accommodation zones for smaller groups. Hindleap Warren is a fully catered residential centre.  (Group sizes up to 184)
