Manchester City Stadium Educational Tours

The educational experiences allow all students to gain a fascinating insight into the high-performing world of the Treble Winners, linking key aspects of the football business and life at the Etihad Stadium to the English National Curriculum and Exam Boards.

Led by a trained guide, school groups will be toured around the Etihad Stadium paying special attention to areas that relate to their chosen subject. Each experience is carefully tailored to ensure it is suitable to each group. Free resources are also provided to support learning before and after the visit with comprehensive lesson plans, worksheets, and accompanying PowerPoint slides.

Match Report
English
Suitable for Key Stages 2 – 4.
Tour the stadium through the eyes of the press in the company of our professionally trained tour guides. We recreate the excitement of a thrilling match so your pupils can take the role of a journalist in our interview areas – right where the professionals do it on a match day.

Day in the Life of a Footballer
Science / PE
Suitable for Science Key stages 2 – 3 and PE Key Stage 3.

During the stadium tour we will follow a player from the moment they wake upon a matchday through to going home, as well as talk about what they do to prepare on the days prior to matchday and how they recover. Our trained tour guides will give the inside knowledge on preparation, fitness, diet, performance analysis, training, nutrition in areas that are used by the players on matchday.

The Stadium as a Business
Maths / Business Studies
Suitable for Maths Key Stage 3 – 4 and Business Studies Key Stage 3 – 4.
This 90-minute tour explores some specific revenue streams, roles, and careers at the stadium, showing the many commercial aspects that operate alongside the big match. The tour looks at profit and loss.

Urban Regeneration
Geography
Suitable for Geography Key Stage 3 – 4, A-Level & University students.
Focusing on the principles of regeneration using the Etihad Campus as a case study. The presentation will tell the story of East Manchester and look at the site in detail throughout the decades, highlighting the different phases of regeneration to how the site has gotten to where it is today. The experience includes a tour of the site followed by a 45-minute presentation.

The Manchester City Stadium Tour
Manchester City Football Club’s School and Educational Tours provide students with a fascinating insight into the high-performing world of the Treble Winners. Students will engage with immersive experiences from insights into the history of the Club, to a Pep Guardiola virtual press conference. Students will also be granted a backstage pass which provides access to dynamic areas such as the Home Team changing room and much more!

As you enter, feel totally immersed and encapsulated in our City Story which provides a comprehensive history of the club; beginning in 1894 and right up to our present-day successes as the Treble Winners! Be wowed by the stunning audio-visual experience in the Home Team changing room and, by engaging with the latest technology, your dreams will come true as you and your students sit and interact with Pep Guardiola (and other special guests) in the press conference room.

During your visit to the Etihad Stadium, students will:
· Field questions with a virtual Pep Guardiola (and other special guests) in the Press Conference room

· See what happens on matchdays in the Home Team dressing room, with an immersive audio-visual show

Our Educational Tour programs have been developed with educational experts and Springside Primary School in Bury.

Pre- and post-visit lesson plans, presentations, and printable resources are provided for our educational tours. All content created is linked to the English National Curriculum and exam board specifications.

The below rates are new pricing and are valid from Jan 2024.

Educational Groups and School Students:

• Under 18: £11.00
• Further Education Students 18+ : £13.50 (for groups of 100+) £14.00 (for groups of 25-99) £16.00 (for groups of 10-24)
• Ratios: for every five primary school pupils, one leader comes free. For every ten secondary school pupils, one leader comes free.
• Extra Adults: £17.00
• Other rates are available upon request for non-educational groups.

Our tours typically begin at 10:00am through to 16:00.

However, special arrangements can be made to start tours earlier from 09:30 to meet the needs of a group.

Educational Tours are only available during UK school term times.

Tours run daily from 10:00-16:00, and our bookings team are available Monday-Friday from 09:00-17:00

Manchester City offers accessible tours to wheelchair users. Visitors with special requirements may qualify for a free personal assistant place on the tour, subject to sales criteria and availability.

We have a fully accessible route around the stadium and educational tours. Our Education Officer and Tours Team are experience with supporting SEND students and staff.
