What does your residential centre offer school trips
Red Rock outdoor residential centre is nestled above the start of the Jurassic coast at Orcombe Point Exmouth is a wonderful school residential camp next to a beautiful sandy beach. The camp has been in existence since the 1920’s when Lady Prattshayes gifted it to children.
Today the camp is made up of villages and offers a great outdoor experience for the students. Join us on a water sports beach day, enjoying Paddle boarding, mega supping and kayaking or if the waves arrive jump on a surf board or grab a body board for fun in the waves. We are a certified BCU and RYA centre and are very passionate about teaching and delivering water sports in a safe learning environment.
On land we are a first aid training centre and combine this with our woodcraft area to make SOS survival, the children get really involved in completing all of the challenges. We also offer archery and the tournament game of Archery Tag in our two archery tag arenas. Then for a change of pace we have Woodlands, nature trails, sea swimming, beach Olympics and the Triassic coastal walk. We would be very pleased to tailor your residential to your specific needs and requirements.
Come and join us on the beach and gaze upon a beautiful Devon bay.

What makes you a great group accommodation choice for an educational visit
Our USP is having the beach just outside our camp, a beautiful sandy beach with great conditions for water sports. We are very experienced water sports instructors and the location is breath-taking.
We have four camping villages that can take up to 60 children in each village. Each tent houses 8 or 6 children depending upon the size of the tent and each child has a camp bed provided, teachers get a solid bed with mattress. Each village has it’s own marquee where you can all meet and relax, plus every village has land games such as table tennis, badminton, football and so on….
The toilet blocks are at the top end of the centre and the dining halls and kitchens are next to the entrance. We offer full board residential but some groups that book the whole site offer their own catering in our large kitchen facility.

Testimonials
Hi Carl,
I just wanted to email to say a HUGE thank you to you and your team for all of the opportunities you have given to our children this year, not just activities week but also the weekly watersports club.
The kids have loved it, even when the weather has been shocking and we really appreciate your ability to adapt when the conditions haven’t been perfect!
A huge thanks from us,
Bernie 🙂

Testimonials
“My daughter came home absolutely buzzing after her weekend at Red Rock. She’s normally a bit shy, but the activities and the friendly instructors brought out a whole new confidence in her. She’s already asking when she can go back!”
– Sophie R., Parent of Year 7 Student
“My son’s school booked a residential here and he came back muddy, happy, and full of stories. From a parent’s point of view, it’s reassuring to know he was in such capable hands in a safe and exciting environment.”
– Emma J., Parent of Year 6 Student
“I was nervous before we arrived, but everyone was so nice. I ended up doing things I never thought I could – like climbing and the big paddleboard challenge. I feel proud of myself!”
– Imran, Year 7
Location details
We are situated next to the Geo needle that marks the start of the Jurassic coast. Our section is triassic, the cliffs tell a fascinating story. We also have the estuary and Dawlish spit, all very good for a field trip. Nelson moored off Dawlish before heading to trafalgar. And in the field next to our estuary centre
