We aim to inspire and support everyone to have a lifetime enjoyment of outdoor activities, with individually tailored activities and programmes to deliver unforgettable experiences, which help develop confidence and communication skills and encourage the physical, social and personal development of young people.
Our experienced team is dedicated to ensuring pupils get the most out of their visit by helping them to positively embrace new opportunities and learning experiences. We endeavour to ensure our activities are mapped against the National Curriculum and provide cross-curricular links as well as developing key skills like decision making, teamwork and communication.
The Centre holds the AALA licence along with our LOTC Badge and our highly experienced instructors always put the safety of anybody taking part in our activities first. We are also regularly inspected by the RYA and Paddle Cymru so you can be certain that your pupils will be in safe hands.

The stunning natural scenery of North Wales provides an inspirational backdrop and our location on the banks of the Menai Strait is only a short drive from Snowdonia National Park. Pricing
We have a pricing breakdown that ranges from a half day visit for one activity through to a week or more long residential stay with full days of activities including evening. We can put together a programme to suit your budget so don’t hesitate to get in touch.
We offer an off peak rate between the months of November and March to visit and make use of the wide range of land based activities that we have on offer.
We offer one free teacher space for every 15 children.
First Aid
All of our staff are trained in first aid and we have relevant kit on site including a defibralator.

Location
Plas Menai is within minutes of the historical town of Caernarfon and all the amenities it has to offer. Guests can drive or cycle along a designated cycle route. Historically significant, it is a great place to explore, eateries and shops. During your stay you are within easy access of the Eryri (Snowdonia) Mountain Range and the Isle of Anglesey, where there are beautiful beaches. The village of Felinheli is also accessible by bike. It is a pretty Welsh coastal village with great pubs, a bakery and local shop. The harbour is lovely to walk around and enjoy a drink or meal as the sun sets over the water.
Londis Convenience Store in Felinheli is 4 minutes by car from the houses and a 20 minute walk. Plas Menai sits equidistant between Felinheli and Caernarfon, where there are a number of large super markets including Asda, Morrisons and Tesco.
The Garddfon Inn, Felinheli is 4 minutes by car from the houses and a 20 minute walk. The houses sit equidistant between Felinheli and Caernarfon, where there are a number of traditional pubs such as the Black Boy and The Anglesey Arms. There is a bar on site at Plas Menai overlooking the water that can be opened at the request of guests.
As part of the National Outdoor Centre, there is a restaurant on site open 7 days a week serving breakfast, lunch and dinner.
