Stubbington Study Centre is a place where learning comes to life!
Occupying a secure 14 acre site situated on the beautiful Hampshire coast near Fareham, our centre has a variety of habitats attracting a wide array of wildlife for study, enjoyment and awe and wonder, and is only a five minute walk to the beach.
Our primary-specialist education team ensure children progress socially and academically by creating a fun, stimulating and supportive learning environment, with an emphasis on teamwork, respect and responsibility.

We ensure that KS2 learning comes to life through a wide range of hands-on experiences designed to enhance classroom learning, while developing independence and self-confidence. We offer a broad and bespoke programme of activities exploring environmental, cultural and adventurous themes. Our primary-specialist education team ensure children progress socially and academically by creating a fun, stimulating and supportive learning environment, with an emphasis on teamwork, respect and responsibility.
What is typically included on your school trips relating to Key Stage or Curriculum Topic information
We work with Key Stage 2 groups, programmes are planned individually with each school group to meet their individual needs.
The activities we offer fall under three broad headings: Environment; Culture; Adventure.

All activities have been planned and resources produced by our education team comprised of experienced former Primary School teachers.
Photography, filming & audio restrictions
Schools may photograph children in their group.
Risk assessment
All activities have been risk assessed and these are available for schools to view before the trip if required.

First Aid
The Centre employs Welfare Assistants who act as first aiders during the day. Schools are responsible for their own first aid provision overnight, but a trained first aider from Stubbington Staff is also on site overnight for emergencies.
Available facilities
Stubbington Study Centre has accessible accommodation for up to 112 children plus staff overnight.
Children have bunk-bedded rooms each of which will sleep either 4 or 6. Every room has its own washroom and some of these are ensuite. Visiting staff are accommodated in single rooms each with its own shower and sink. One staff bedroom is positioned adjacent to every two children’s rooms.
These bedrooms are located within 5 dormitories, each of which offers a gathering space where groups can access indoor games and TVs/screens. Often there will be more than one school on site, but each school will have its own dormitory area and indoor space.
Full catering is available to school groups during term time.
Groups also have access to:
- Dining room that can seat up to 112 children
- Staff dining room adjacent to the children’s
- Two accessible hygiene suites within the dormitories, one of which has an x-y ceiling hoist and adjustable changing bed.
- An additional accessible hygiene suite, which is located at first aid
- Heated drying rooms
- Onsite laundry facilities for emergencies
- First aid room and sick bay area
- Classroom space for all groups and additional toilet facilities
- Games room which includes pool, pinball, table football an table tennis.
- Outdoor classroom facilities within our ‘Saxon-ish’ Longhouse
- Outdoor recreation areas including adventure playground, hard court, padder tennis courts, playing field, pétanque terrain and ‘giant’ games.
- 14 acre site offering a wealth of outdoor learning opportunities within secure boundaries.
- Centre shop opens after lunch (recommend approximately £3 per day)
- Free wifi
