What we offer on our residential school trip


Cuffley Active Learning Centre is located in 96-acres of beautiful SSSI woodland wilderness, just a stone’s throw from London. Cuffley offers exciting multi-activity and forest-based experiences, a perfect blend of challenge, immersion and fun.
Offering 2-day to 5-day residential adventures and 1-day experiences, the stunning woodland environment offers all ages to explore their surroundings and experience new activities. They create a dedicated itinerary that meets individual and group needs, focusing on teamwork, challenge and fun. Activities include high ropes, climbing wall, target sports, bushcraft, problem solving games and many more!
With multiple accommodation options, there is something to suit every group. They have two individual pod villages, a cozy Woodland Lodge, or our immersive woodland campsites. Whichever option is best for you, you will have your own private area to relax after a fun filled day of activities. Cuffley is the perfect setting for a fun-filled and successful residential trip.

Your group will have the same instructor for all activities throughout their stay, enabling them to build personal relationships with individuals and make sure they are maximising potential for their time with us.
With 3 accommodation options, we are open all year round and can cater for any requirements, and will work with you from the first point of contact, to your trip date, making sure the trip is a success for your group.
We have 4 different dining experiences at Cuffley, making sure no one will go home hungry! Our Refectory, Pizza Palace, Woodland Kitchen and Woodland BBQ are the perfect settings to make sure you are fueled for the activities ahead

Group Sizes catered for


Group size depends on accommodation type:
We have two pod villages, each sleeping up to 48 students plus staff. For larger groups we can easily spread you across both pod villages.
Our Woodland Lodge can sleep approximately 40 students plus staff.
In our Tented accommodation we have no maximum number and have catered for groups of up to 300 students.
Room types, sizes


CUFFLEY TENTS
Our immersive woodland campsites vary in sizes so we can accommodate your group on their own private camp, whether your group small or large. During the night students will sleep in safari style bell tents, which each sleep approximately 10. Each campsite is located around a central fire-pit in the heart of your camp. There are private toilets on each campsite.
CUFFLEY PODS
We have two individual pod villages, each sleeping up to 48 students and 4 staff. Each pod is heated and includes bedding, with separate pods for teachers within the village. The area is lit overnight, with wash blocks on site.
WOODLAND LODGE
A cozy retreat after a day of activities, our Woodland Lodge features 5 student dormitories accommodating approximately 40 students with 2 school staff dormitories. Each dormitory has an en-suite, and all bedding is provided.
Photography, Filming & Audio Restrictions


We have no restrictions on our camps.
Risk Assessment


We provide a full risk management policy. This can be found on your Teacher Portal, along with many other useful resources to plan and prepare for your trip.
Pricing


Our prices vary depending on a number of factors including dates, student numbers and accommodation type. We offer seasonal pricing so have options throughout the year and will work with you to find a trip to suit your budget.
First Aid


On each camp, there will be at least one qualified First Aider and many of our staff are trained to FPOS level.
In case of an emergency, the Centre Manager will assist transportation to the nearest A&E department
Catering options


We provide all meals and snacks in our four dining areas: our refectory, woodfired pizza palace, a pasta selection at the woodland kitchen, and a BBQ kitchen offering a variety of grilled delights. We can cater for dietary requirements, including vegan, vegetarian, halal, gluten-free, and lactose-free diets. All our sites are allergy-aware centres.

Situated conveniently for London, Cuffley is just 10 minutes from Potters Bar, Hertfordshire, and is close to the M25 for easy coach access. Cuffley is also accessible by train (we can provide transport to site).
