Outdoor Residential Centres

Located on the Isle of Cumbrae, Firth of Clyde the field study centre has a rich history as a marine research station. Now its purpose-built accommodation and teaching spaces have been created to provide an excellent range of courses for school groups.

The Centre for Alternative Technology’s WISE Building is an award-winning venue with outstanding sustainability credentials which provides educational group accommodation. WISE has 24 twin bedrooms with en-suite shower and toilet, all simply furnished in a modern, uncluttered style.

Countryside Education Trust Residential Centre is located in Beaulieu in the beautiful New Forest, and provides the perfect residential base for all school ages as it is surrounded by a variety of habitats, historic places and opportunities for outdoor adventures. Your school groups will have exciting learning opportunities while experiencing animal welfare first hand. Countryside Education Trust is an ideal spot for adventurous school trips and with a variety of wonderful activities for a brilliant school trip. A packed lunch is required for arrival day and then the evening meal is catered. (Group sizes up to 40).

Ackers Adventure Centre Birmingham provides residential school trip adventure activity experiences, your students can enjoy active outdoor pursuits all day and then relax with class mates at the ARC self catering accommodation block. Rhyd-y-creuau field study centre is set in the Snowdonia National Park with wooded valleys, rocky shores and beaches to explore. Your students can enjoy outdoor activities such as hiking, biodiversity garden, campfire area and teambuilding challenges.

High Ashurst Outdoor Education Centre is set in 56 acres of woodland on Box Hill, near Dorking, in the tranquil Surrey Hills 'Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty'. The outdoor activities are delivered by qualified and highly experienced outdoor education instructors. Whether you book for one day, a week or a weekly programme, our staff will facilitate a structured outdoor experience and engage with your school group to maximise their learning opportunities. Much of the YHA hostel network is available for use by groups and schools. We offer both group accommodation that's great for teacher-led residentials as well as complete packages. Unless stated the hostel is bed and board only.

The Conway Centre Anglesey is ideally located within 169 acres of National Trust Parkland, providing educational groups with active enrichment school residential activity experiences in the wild outdoors. The Centre accommodates up to 380 students and 55 staff, all in standard dormitory-style accommodation.

Manor Adventure Lockerbie Manor in Scotland is set amidst 78 acres of tranquil woodland and fields inhabited with an abundance of natural wildlife.  Lockerbie Manor provides school groups with an introduction to outdoor pursuits, with each session lasting one and a half hours. The accommodation has enough space for up to 240 young people.

Offering water-and land-based activities on the stunning shores of Rivington reservoir, Anderton Centre also offers both catered and non-catered accommodation for residential school trips. Conway Centre Delamere Cheshire is located in the heart of Delamere Forest. The Forest environment allows for activities such as orienteering, den building, survival skills, stream dipping, and environmental games. Accommodation comprises of 32 students and 10 staff, with 2 dormitories for students and 3 separate rooms for staff.
