Photography, filming & audio restrictions

We welcome photography and filming, with a few safety and privacy considerations:
📸 On the water:

- A staff member is welcome to take photos or videos as long as no other guest groups are included in the footage.
🚫 No copyright restrictions, just safety guidelines and respect for other participants’ privacy.

Clothing requirements

Trainers or walking boots with a sturdy sole are required to protect feet from rocks—these will get wet so old ones are normally better! Wet shoes or water socks are not suitable, as they do not provide enough protection.
We provide all other necessary equipment, but please bring:
- A swimsuit to wear under the wetsuit
- A towel for drying off afterward
- Dry shoes for after the trip
First Aid

Each of our raft guides holds a valid Outdoor First Aid qualification, ensuring they are trained to handle emergencies in remote environments.
As our rafting locations vary, and the activity takes place on a river, there is no fixed first aid station on-site. However, all guides carry first aid kits on the rafts.
Groups do not need to bring their own qualified first aider, but we always recommend having a designated staff member who is aware of any medical needs within the group.
Available facilities

As our rafting locations vary, facilities will depend on the meeting point for your trip:
North Lakes (Lazonby Swimming Pool & Campsite)
- Free parking
- Toilet only (no changing facilities)
- No showers or dining areas due to the remote nature of the trip
- Plenty of open space for packed lunches
South Lakes (Fell Foot Park, National Trust)
- Paid parking (£8 per vehicle – free for National Trust members)
- Toilets, changing areas & showers available
- Café serving hot & cold food (National Trust-run, typically open 10am – 4pm)
- Plenty of open space for packed lunches
There are no shops on-site at either location, so no pocket money is required. However, if you’re rafting in the South Lakes, the café offers snacks and drinks after the session.
Opening times

We operate all year round, with trips running Wednesday to Sunday as standard.
- Morning Session: Meet at 9:00 AM (or 10:00 AM in winter).
- Afternoon Session: Meet between 12:45 PM and 1:45 PM, depending on the meeting location and time of year.
Additional days may be available upon request, subject to staff availability. During the winter months, we run fewer trips, but we may be able to accommodate special requests where possible. If you have a specific date in mind outside our usual schedule, feel free to get in touch, and we’ll do our best to make it work!
