Located in an idyllic woodland setting, we are the leading outdoor activities and glamping centre on the Herefordshire, Shropshire border, and only 20 minutes from Wales.

Children can discover their adventurous side with Paintball, High Ropes, Low Ropes Assault Course, Target Shooting, Woodland Krypton, Rafting and more.

School trips to Oaker Wood offer children the opportunity to connect with nature and develop important life skills. They can work on teamwork, problem-solving and becoming more resilient whilst taking part in outdoor activities. Fresh air combined with physical activity greatly benefits children’s overall health, boosting both physical fitness and mental well-being.

We have large camps which are exclusive to your group.

With over 20 years of experience in providing school residentials for primary and secondary schools as well as youth groups, we offer a wide variety of activities specifically designed for school-aged children. Our programs include Woodland Navigation, Den Building, and High & Low Ropes courses, all aimed at promoting teamwork, problem-solving, and personal development. Throughout their stay, children learn and grow in a safe, supportive outdoor environment that encourages hands-on experiences and fosters resilience. Feedback from teachers and repeated visits from schools shows that we provide a fantastic environment for children to succeed. Many children who visit us have never had the opportunity to take part in the outdoor activities that we offer. Our team of instructors are committed to ensuring that the children who visit us enjoy an unforgettable and enriching experience.

Children can make use of our vast green space to play football or run around playing tag.

We have Learning Outside the Classroom accreditation.

Beeches camp to 88 people sleeping in 11 pods, and the Oaks to 72 people sleeping in 9 pods. 

Oaks Camp: space for 60 people. 9 pods. six pods sleep 8 people on 4 bunk beds, 3 pods sleep four people each.

Wooden lockable Pods, details above. Toilets and showers separate.

Pods are either 4 bunk beds sleeping 8 people, or 2 bunk beds sleeping 4 people. Showers and toilets are separate but are exclusive to your group.

Potential for off-season discounts

Teachers go free. Youth Leaders depends on minimum numbers. This can be discussed, a small number of (non participating) adults can attend free of charge with large groups.

We have a number of first aiders on site.

Each village has a large covered enclosed kitchen/dining area, purpose-built campfire, Nordic BBQ Hut, showers and toilets that are exclusive to the group.

We offer schools the opportunity to use the gift shop during their stay. We have changing rooms specific to rafting. There are various areas to enjoy a packed lunch with benches, schools usually use their dining area in camp for meal times.

We provide all plates/bowls, cutlery, pots and pans, along with charcoal BBQ, Microwave, Fridges, Kettle, Toaster, Gas cooker.

Groups can be self catered, partly catered, or fully catered.

Groups usually provide packed lunch on first day of visit.

We have a disabled toilet but groups should contact us specifically to enquire re accessibility.

We open for bookings week days and weekends. Hours can be flexible.
