Glan-llyn Residential Centre has a unique lakeside setting on the shores of Llyn Tegid, North Wales and is exciting outdoor education centre.
It offers one day and residential school trips and adventurous activities to students of all ages who can then explore the beautiful natural environment that surrounds them.

Nestled on the shores of Llyn Tegid in Eryri (Snowdonia National Park) Wales, Glan-llyn and Glan-llyn Isa offers a range of age-appropriate outdoor educational activities such as canoeing, climbing, high ropes, orienteering, and much more, which foster teamwork, leadership, and resilience.
There are also various indoor facilities such as a sports hall, swimming pool, and various communal spaces.
Our centre has 240 beds in different size rooms and we pride ourselves in welcoming over 30,000 children and young people annually.

Glan-llyn Residential Centre has a unique lakeside setting on the shores of Llyn Tegid, near Bala.
Its rural position with spectacular 360-degree views provides a second-to-none residential experience. Although the setting instills calmness, the activities are anything but!
With a range of outdoor adventure activities to suit all ages and abilities.
We cater for various client groups and can adapt the provision to coincide with your curriculum needs. With 75 years of experience, we pride ourselves on the quality of service provided at the centre which is highlighted by 96% of return customers annually.
All 65 members of staff at the centre speak Welsh and English fluently.

Group sizes catered for
We have 6 accommodation blocks with 240 beds including staff rooms.
All rooms have en-suite facilities (excluding Glan-llyn Isa’) The blocks can also be split with maglock doors depending on group size. Activity groups are a maximum of 24 students.
Room types, sizes
All accommodation blocks but for one have en-suite dorm rooms. The dorm rooms range from 2-8 beds. There are specific rooms for staff which are also en-suite. In addition, we have several accessible rooms.
Risk assessment
All risk assessments, including site and all activities, are available on request.
Providing detailed risk assessments for all activities within the centres provision is a requirement of the license we hold as mentioned above.
Photography, Filming & Audio Restrictions
All groups are authorized to film and photograph their groups and follow their protocols.
However, no permission is granted to photograph, film, or use audio of any child or young person who is not under their care.

2 nights – £186 pp
3 nights – £267 pp
4 nights – £313 pp
Weekend – £150 pp
Day visits – £45
There is no charge for staff if within the following ratios: 1:10 for Primary school age and 1:15 for secondary ages. We also provide a discounted rate for 6th form pupils who attend to assist the school.
University prices range depending on their needs and packages are tailored accordingly.
First Aid
There is a first aid room on site which is equipped with medical supplies. All medical forms are stored in the first aid room for the duration of visit. All staff are first aid trained. Teachers can administer first aid and accident forms have to be completed in all incidents. A vehicle is always available on site for teachers to use in emergencies.

Location information
We are located in Llanuwchlyn, near Bala in North Wales on the shores of Llyn Tegid which is the largest natural lake in Wales. We are within the Eryri National Park, home to Wales’s highest mountain, Yr Wyddfa and within half an hour of spectacular mountain paths including Cadrer Idris, Aran Benllyn and the Arenig.
