We’ve been working with schools delivering outdoor adventures for over 12 years, so we know what gets children motivated and how to get the best out of them.

Many schools come to us for their school residential trips after previous experiences using big trips providers.  Often these can feel impersonal, rushed and crowded.  At Rootd things are very different.  We work together to ensure that every child is seen and heard during their time with us.  We want them to come away feeling strong, resilient and empowered, having had the time of their lives.

And from the moment you book your trip, we make sure we get to know you and your students.  We then design the ideal trip, incorporating activities that we know will bring out the best in your students.  Our activities are designed to connect them with nature, get involved, have adventures, learn bushcraft skills, have the freedom to explore, have fun and create lasting memories together.

Schools love where they stay on a Rootd Residential!

In the warmer months, they get the real camping experience in our spacious bell tents complete with bunk beds, chill our spaces, games and teacher areas.  Our woodland pods, decorated with nature mural and dedicated indoor spaces are perfect for getting cosy after a busy day in the outdoors.

At Rootd we believe our team should not only be superbly trained and professional.  They should also be fun, passionate, and fantastic role models, inspiring future generations to grow into resilient, inquisitive individuals that care for each other and the planet.  With the groups from breakfast to bedtime, our Rootd group leaders work together to make the trips as inspiring and memorable as they can for every child.  They don’t just stand on the sidelines, they get stuck and work alongside your group.  They’re great at really connecting with students, and it’s often our team that children talk about long after the trip is over.

Developing students’ life skills and building their resilience as they explore the outdoors is the aim of our trips.  Activities are designed to inspire every child to get involved and encourage independent thinking, creativity and teamwork.  Whether this is building a shelter together or guiding each other on the high ropes, students learn resilience and the importance of working together through fun and exciting activities.

We have qualified first-aiders on site at all times.  .

We aim to be as inclusive as possible and although woodland based with natural limitations, the centre has disabled facilities.  Please contact us to discuss individual requirements.
