Find the answers to these questions, and many more, as you explore our 4 spectacular glasshouses and 15 acres of flourishing gardens. With over 20 cross-curricular teaching sessions to choose from that are specifically aimed at the different key stages, and all of which link to the National Curriculum, Birmingham Botanical Gardens and Glasshouses offers an educational visit like no other.

Located in 20 acres of outdoor space including woodlands & lakes, award winning Nuclear Wild Forest delivers unique, adventurous school trips. Being outdoors is beneficial to mental & physical wellbeing. Students grow in confidence, developing coordination skills & resilience.  New for 2025 we have launched an outdoor team building  programme that can be brought to your very own school offering a wide range of activities for the students.

Adventure Nene Watersports and Outdoor Activity Centre, based at Sibson Lake beside the River Nene, delivers land and water based adventure activities. Its residential trips are suited to school, youth and community groups only. (Group sizes up to 180)  

Jewry Wall Museum helps school groups to discover what life was like in Roman Leicester, including aspects such as food, clothing, bathing, social activities, and housing. Here students can immerse themselves in the stories through a new multi-media exhibition at the Roman bathhouse ruins. Visiting Jewry Wall creates a perfect school or educational day trip focusing on history, while these experiences support the National Curriculum across a wide range of subjects and key stages.

Ghyll Head Residential Outdoor Education and Activity Centre is located in the heart of the Lake District National Park, Cumbria and provides enrichment and adventure activity courses for schools and educational groups.  Students will experience authentic outdoor adventure and team building activities lead by highly experienced instructors.  Group accommodation from a minimum of 12 and up to 72 for activity courses. Sealyham Active Learning Centre is dedicated to helping students develop essential skills and character, promoting wellbeing through adventurous outdoor learning.

Located on the scenic border of Dorset and Somerset, the Magdalen Farm Environmental Centre offers immersive, hands-on day trips across its 132 acres of organic farmland and diverse nature reserves. These visits allow students and groups to engage directly with sustainable agriculture through activities like feeding farm animals, harvesting organic vegetables, and learning about the journey of food from soil to plate. The centre provides a wide array of curriculum-linked programs, ranging from "Survival in the Wild" bushcraft sessions to scientific "river dipping" studies where participants can wade into the shallow River Axe to examine local biodiversity. Sustainability is woven into every experience, often culminating in eco-cooking sessions using outdoor cob ovens and fresh ingredients gathered directly from the sprawling kitchen gardens.
