Tapnell Farm is an award-winning destination set in beautiful rural countryside on the Isle of Wight, with stunning sea views.
Family run and formerly one of the biggest dairy farms on the Island, over the last 15 years, Tapnell has transformed into the Isle of Wight’s leading eco-tourism business.
We have lots of great activities on site that suit a variety of year groups and abilities. Spend the day at Tapnell and give your students fantastic experiences with lasting memories.
We are very happy to facilitate site visits to show school representatives around prior to their school trip (free of charge). Risk assessments and essential documents are also provided in advance.

Our multi-award-winning farm attraction offers unique, comfortable accommodation, a spectacular countryside setting and convenient road links to ferry terminals and off-site attractions. On-site, meanwhile, there are dozens of engaging, confidence-building activities – from splashing at our Aqua Park to meeting cute animals at the Farm Park.

With an exciting voyage across the Solent to get here, Tapnell Farm is set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with uninterrupted rural and sea views, stunning sunsets and beautiful beaches on our doorstep.
Boasting numerous awards, our attractions and experiences are designed to capture and delight children’s imaginations. These include the Farm Park, Aqua Park, Football Golf, bike rides and country hikes.
Off site activities can include Alum Bay & The Needles, Carisbrooke Castle, Osborne House, Fossil hunting and beach visit, Blackgang Chine, Robin Hill, Coasteering, Wildheart Trust Animal Sanctuary. Our friendly team will be happy to discuss options, book excursions and/ or travel – and help plan your itinerary for your stay.
We offer a teacher-led residential experience with lots of great activities both on and off site, which we can tailor make and book for you.
Student accommodation is provided in converted containers with four bunkbeds in each, sleeping up to 8 children. There is electric and festoon lighting in each container. A modern shower block provides toilet and shower facilities (total 14 showers and 12 toilets, including accessible toilet/shower rooms). We can cater for approximately 100 students, with no more than two school groups at a time in Camp Tapnell. Separate teacher accommodation is close to student’s accommodation in the form of chalets & stys. We also have Tom’s Eco Lodge- another exclusive area of accommodation with an upgraded offering.
Bed and board includes 3 meals a day, plus 2 evenings of entertainment (eg evening disco / evening cinema). Catering is provided by our award winning The Cow restaurant which caters for all dietary requirements.

Our attractions include:
Tapnell Farm Park
An all-weather attraction with plenty of play areas, indoors and out, to keep everyone entertained: pedal go-karts, jumping pillows, crazy golf, zip wires, sledge slides, trampolines and tower slide, plus amazing animals in the paddocks and animal barn.
We provide fantastic educational experiences for all age groups, based around our animals and the farm.
There is a daily schedule of animal talks your group is able to attend – for bigger groups we may schedule a private talk for your visit.
Duration: 3.5 hour sessions. Morning 10:00am-1:30pm or afternoon 1:30pm-5:00pm.
Target Year Groups: Nursery – Year 6. Any year group is welcome!
Teacher Supervision: 1 teacher per 10 students as a minimum. Younger year groups will require 1 teacher per 5 students.
Aqua Park
The Island’s only outdoor Aqua Park with over 20 obstacles to tackle – and lots of fun! Wetsuits and buoyancy aids provided. Facilities include changing rooms, showers and toilets (split male/female)
Participants do need to be able to swim and would ideally be water confident. Our staff are very happy to provide support and encouragement to those less confident swimmers – they have more to gain from an experience at the Aqua Park – what a confidence builder!
Duration: 2 hours. 50 minutes on the inflatables after a safety briefing with 30 minutes either side for changing.
Target Year Groups: Year 5 – Year 11 (minimum age 7).
Maximum Group Size: 80 (7 teachers and 73 students).
Minimum Group Size: 40 paying participants required.
Teacher Supervision: 1 teacher on the Aqua Park per 10 students.
Football Golf
Our 18-hole Football Golf course – the only one on the Island – is a great and easy choice for a school visit. This activity is great fun and caters to a wide range of skills and abilities – it is what you make it. For some students it will be a serious competition – for others it will simply be great fun and a chance to have a laugh with peers.
Duration: varies depending on group size and skill – allow 1.5 hours.
Target Year Groups: Year 3 – Year 11.
Maximum Group Size: We recommend no more than 60 on the course.

Tapnell Farm has won a number of awards for its glamping accommodation and farm cottages, most recently: Tourism South East, Beautiful South Tourism Award 2026, Gold for Glamping Business and Alternative Accommodation of the Year – and Red Funnel My Isle of Wight Award 2026, Gold for Best Self Catering.
Isle of Wight Aqua Park holds a Gold RLSS Accreditation standard.

Photography, Filming & Audio Restrictions
We request prior notification of any intention to take photographs or film. There are no restrictions to photographing/recording your students during their visit provided they do not capture anyone not part of the group – and subject to authorization by individual members of Tapnell staff (which we would organize). We can also take photographs/film of your group if you are happy for us to use for marketing purposes.

Bed and board (3 meals per day) + 2 evenings of entertainment is charged at £82 per person for Camp Tapnell and £86 Tom’s Eco Lodge
Farm Park – £15 per person (unlimited). 1 teacher per 10 children goes free.
Full Day (up to 7 hours) £13.00pp / Half Day (up to 4 hours) £10pp
Aqua Park – £16.50 per participant. 1 teacher per 10 children goes free.
Football Golf – £6.00 per participant. 1 teacher per 10 children goes free.
First Aid
We always advise groups to bring a First Aider along although we have First Aid trained staff across site. Lifeguards are on duty at the Aqua Park.
There is a defib located outside our restaurant in a locked cabinet- you will be provided this number in your welcome folder.

Accessibility & Disabled Facilities
Where we are based on a farm, some areas can be tricky to navigate but we want to welcome everybody to Tapnell, so please get in touch to discuss any queries or individual requirements. There are two good accessible toilet and shower rooms in the shower block next to the accommodation, accessible toilets and a good toilet/wash room in the Farm Park and The Cow restaurant is accessible too.
