Ocean Beach Pleasure Park is based on the coast in South Shields, just a short drive away from Newcastle, Sunderland Durham. Being established for over 80 years, we have invested in a great range of indoor and outdoor activities including rides, amusement arcades and laser tag. We also have a large family entertainment centre and mini golf as well as various food outlets.

We are a free admission Park meaning the whole group can enjoy the day without the need for costly entrance fees. Rides are paid for via a Funcard Credit system with the arcades and Laser Tag being cash/card or Funcard Credits.

We welcome a high number of schools each year for visits as an end of term reward. This can be single classes or full year groups from nursery to colleges, home schooling and any other educational facility. We are able to tailor make a package based on your duration, group size and budget. 

As a site we have something for everyone and cater for all age groups. For outdoor activities, we have small kiddie rides up to large thrill rides. Indoors we have arcade machines including pushers, cranes and game machines. Laser Tag is ideal for players age 6 years and above – including the grown ups!

Photography is allowed with prior notification. There is no filming using hand held devices on rides as a matter of health and safety.

We can provide a Risk Assessment and PL Insurance upon request. We are able to accommodate inspection visits before the trip if needed.

Entry into the Pleasure Park is free. Rides are paid for via a Funcard system with pre loaded credits. Rides vary in credit quantity from 2.5 for smaller rides and from 3 for larger/thrill rides. Funcards can be loaded with any quantity of credits to suit your budget and students can top up as and when they want. “Half Price Rides” – this discount is activated with a minimum spend and valid for the day of your visit.

Arcades work with cash or most of our machines also accept the Funcards. We are able to offer Arcade Wristbands for selected machines (30min unlimited play)

Discounts also available at Laser Tag with prices from £6 per person for a 1 hour session

We would advise visitors are dressed appropriately for the weather as we are an outside venue.

We have a number of team members with first aid training as well as 2 onsite defibrillators. We would also assume schools (as part pf their own risk assessment) would bring a qualified member of staff with them on a trip.

There is a coach park at the site together with several car parks along the coast.

We have a range of food outlets and each has a seating area.

There is a Park with large grassed space close by (across the road) and of course the beach.

Council maintained toilet facilities are at the back of the Pleasure Park at the end of the Arcades.

The site is flat and we are able to accommodate most abilities on our rides.

For those customers who require carers, we can accommodate this.

There are high restrictions on majority of rides which will need to be adhered to.

Our School Visit dates for rides in 2025 are Monday 7 July up to and including Friday 18th July. Arcades open 10am with rides opening 11am.

Visits to Laser Tag are available daily throughout the year.
