On 27th September 1825, George Stephenson’s steam powered Locomotion No 1 transported hundreds of passengers In Britain for 26 miles, marking the start of a journey that would shape the modern world. Join us at Statfold Country Park to celebrate Railway 200, the 200th anniversary of modern railways.
Statfold Country Park is a working Steam Railway Museum set in 1000 acres of stunning Staffordshire countryside.
Our year-round educational programme is constructed for early years, primary and secondary students. We are a fully accessible site that offers fantastic support for any Special Education Needs and Disabilities (SEND). Our interactive workshop sessions are tailored to cover national curriculum topics and are led by a dedicated teaching team that will ensure learning is blended with fun!
To celebrate Railway 200 all children who visit with a school will receive a voucher for them to return for free!
