We are a fully accessible site that offers fantastic support for any Special Education Needs and Disabilities (SEND). Take part in interactive workshop sessions are tailored to cover national curriculum topics and are led by a dedicated teaching team that will ensure learning is blended with fun!

Nestled in over 1000 acres of stunning Staffordshire countryside, Statfold Country Park is a working museum preserving the best of our railway past for future generations. Our Education Programme is tailored to meet the National Curriculum, whilst our interactive sessions and exciting activities will ensure that any visiting school will have fun during their visit.
What is typically included on your school trips relating to Key Stage


We provide a number of topic based workshops for each key Stage, however our dedicated Education & Learning team are always happy to work with you to tailor our sessions and experiences to your learning topic. EVERY school visit to Statfold will include:

We have a minimum booking requirement of 25 pupils for KS1 – KS3.
We can accommodate up to 190 pupils in one visit! For smaller SEN or EYFS groups there is no minimum booking numbers.
Materials provided


Pre-visit classroom curriculum and key stage relevant resources are available as a digital download upon request! We can also help with the introduction to your learning topic. Statfold also produces SEN/SEND communication cards and activity boards that you can use on the day of your trip. Visual guides are also sent to teachers as part of our booking process.
Photography, filming & audio restrictions


All visiting groups are allowed to film and take photographs. We request that you refrain from filming our workshop content.
Risk assessment


All Risk Assessments, Insurance details and policies and procedures are digitally sent to teachers as soon as a booking is confirmed. We also recommend a pre-visit (free of charge and at your convenience) to chat to a member of the team about your day.

£8.50 per child (EYFS & SEN focused visits)
£9.50 per child/learner (KS1 – KS3)
We request an adult supervision ratio of 1:6 for EYFS and 1:10 for KS1 and above. Teacher places within this ratio are free of charge – any additional adults are charged at £10 per head. We do not charge for an 1:1 support staff.
There is a minimum booking requirement of 25 pupils in place.

A warm coat and good footwear!
First Aid


All education team members are first aid trained and a Frecc 3 level first aider will be on site at all times. We have multiple first aid stations (with equipment) and a dedicated treatment space.

Statfold is DDA compliant with qualified SEN trained staff. Our site is fully accessible via wheelchair (including the train carriages) and we have accessible toilets.
