What our school workshops like

We believe in inspiring all children to see themselves as inventors and engineers, so they grow up knowing they can shape their world.
This is why we create hands-on and fun STEM experiences that are accessible to all children with our expert-led, hands-on STEM workshops for EYFS-Y6.
Top 3 ranked children’s activity provider in the UK 2025 and designed to fit in with your curriculum, delivered by qualified and experienced teachers, we run STEM workshops and clubs in schools and nurseries across the UK, helping children develop the skills and confidence to succeed in STEM.
Our workshops can cover inventing, engineering, coding, robotics and design for KS1 and KS2 and a variety of additional science topics for Early Years both in schools and nurseries.
British Science Week
Inventors & Makers will have a collection of brand new workshops for British Science Week 2026 for use with N-Y6. The workshops link to the 2026 theme ‘Curiosity…what’s your question?’
Explore our range of workshops linked to curiosity, from our brand new Understanding AI workshops, to our tried and tested workshops developing curiosity in engineering and design.

What makes us a great choice for educational groups

We believe every child, no matter how young, deserves to see themselves as a changemaker in the world. So we ensure that all our workshops, designed and delivered by qualified and experienced teachers, ensure maximum educational benefit.
We can visit you in-person over a half day or up to several days and deliver a mixture of workshops and assemblies across a range of year groups; or we can reach you wherever you are and whatever your budget with our virtual self-led workshops.
CRB/DBS checks

All in person workshops are run by fully qualified and experienced teachers who have an Enhanced DBS and undertake regular Safeguarding/ Child Protection training as well as pediatric first aid training.
Group sizes

We usually work with classes of up to 30 children for workshops, but can deliver assembly style sessions to larger groups. We will try to tailor what we can provide to your budget.
Materials, resources provided

Our materials are all developed by qualified and experienced teachers specifically for each stage of Primary School or EYFS. As well as carefully researching and planning all sessions we carry out testing and improvement of our sessions before delivering them.
All workshops target a particular age group so we can ensure we are building on existing knowledge at a developmentally and educationally appropriate level.
As qualified and experienced teachers we are very comfortable to discuss with you and adapt our materials to suit any specific needs of children in your particular setting.
Video previews are available for many of our workshops to help you understand our delivery style and quality of sessions.
You can also see some of our materials for free by signing up to our free ‘Inventor of the Week’ resources, giving you STEM Heroes to raise the profile of STEM in your school. You can sign up for those here: https://www.inventorsandmakers.com/inventorandmakeroftheweek
Photography, filming & audio restrictions

Photos and videos are encouraged in all our workshops. All we ask is that you link us if you post them on social media or provide parents with our website details.

Testimonials

“Having Inventors & Makers into school was wonderful! There is always seamless booking and communication before the day. In the workshops the children were all fully engaged with well planned, age appropriate content with a mix of teacher led and group work. The leader has great classroom management skills so the teachers could all learn and enjoy the sessions too. All the staff and children had nothing but positive things to say!” (Mrs McWeeney, Head of Science and Sustainability)
“Inventors & Makers made the booking and organising of the day very smooth. The finer details were taken care of e.g. activity sheets and info for parents and staff. The workshop leader was so so so professional and helpful. The children were so engaged with her from Nursery to year 6!! Teachers could relax knowing that she was a teacher and that was very apparent in her sessions. She had them in the palm of her hand and all of the children were smiling and learnt so much!!” (Mrs Heaton, Science Curriculum Lead, The Breakspear School)
