What makes us a great choice for educational visits
We can adapt the educational activities to suit individual needs and cover National Curriculum objectives from EYFS to Key Stage 3, ensuring that each session is tailored to deliver a bespoke learning experience that meets the unique requirements of each group that visits.
Flag Fen occupies part of the Flag Fen Basin and the internationally recognised Must Farm discoveries were made less than one kilometre away. Bronze Age boats, which were found in the early stage of excavations, are currently kept here on display and are undergoing expert conservation. Flag Fen is one of the only conservation centres in England that have the facilities and technical skills to ensure these boats are preserved for future generations.
Flag Fen Archaeology Park is a fascinating place where visitors can see remains of the well-preserved Bronze Age causeway and explore the prehistoric site packed full of amazing stories. In the museum children can see one of the earliest wheels discovered in Britain, experience what life was like in a Bronze Age and Iron Age roundhouse and children can have a go at archaeology in ‘The big dig’ – a mock-up of an archaeological dig simulations.
We can also provide shorter workshops and experiences for SEN groups of up to 15 pupils on request.
