Standing in 15 acres of gardens and parkland is a beautiful activity centre set in an ideal rural location, that allows your group to meet together as a community.
Dunfield offers excellent facilities for education, music, faith and family groups to meet together and run their own programmes.

What makes us a great group accommodation choice for a school trip


We offer a warm and cosy house that becomes your schools’ home for the duration of your visit, providing the setting for children to be children again. Here they can explore living in community, sharing rooms and meal times and learning about the relationship they have with the world around them whilst following the program you have set them.
We can also provide a list of local contacts that can be booked to attend the site. From animal farm visits to inflatable assault courses. Dunfield House provides a safe environment for children to explore. The Dunfield staff team as also on hand to help you plan your activities.

- Outdoor meeting space for 60 located on the grounds
- Dunfield House is Grade 2 listed and is steeped in history dating back to the 1600s – this can be linked in with WW2 and having Winston Churchill stay at Dunfield with other Generals during WW2 and plan the Ghost army. – The recreation hall is a WW2 hut that was used, its original number can still be seen.
- Set within a valley, Dunfield House has a stream that flows through the entire grounds – this can be linked to geography lessons. You could also have duck races or build dams along the stream

The stables sleep 23 but can accommodate up to 27 – Self-catering or fully catered option
Entire site – Both accommodations are solely booked – 101 sleeping fully catered.
Bedroom types, sizes


All bedrooms have bunk-style beds in both accommodations. With bunk beds or single beds. Wardrobes, Bins, Chairs and wash basins, fans and heaters in every room. Bedding and sheets are provided.
Toiletries and towels are not provided. Bedding packs are given to everyone, everyone is asked to make their own bed and strip before departing the site.
The stables offer 3 ground-floor accessible rooms and an accessible shower/bathroom.

Bedrooms sleep 2 – 10 people depending on the accommodation and the room number.

Our general risk assessment covers all areas of the business, Individual breakdowns can be provided such as : Honey Bees on-site risk assessment. Dogs on-site for guest risk assessment. Community swimmers on-site risk assessment, Accessibility statement.

You will need to provide your own first aider for your group. Dunfield’s policy asks that you provide at least 1 car and 1 first aider for bookings. All medical emergency information is provided to the group

Catering options


The main house is fully catered only on a set menu – Bookings will have a draft menu sent to advise on any changes.
The stables can be fully catered, part-catered or self-catered
Packed lunches can be provided
“normal” catering would include 3 meals and supper daily. Breakfast starts with cereals, yoghurts and fruit, followed by a small cooked breakfast with toast, teas and coffee for adults. Lunch and evening meals include a pudding. Supper for under 16s would be a homemade baked snack and hot chocolate. Staff have the option to add a cheese board and crackers for £12 for every 10 people.
Dunfield can cater for all if not most dietary requirements. Sadly we cannot cater for the Kosha diet. Halal can be catered for with 10 day prior notice.
Accessibility, disabled facilities


Accessibility – Ground floor of the main house, the entire ground floor of the stables accommodation and a wet room,(we can provide a shower trolly upon request) accessibility to the Games room and swimming pool. – Hoist available at the swimming pool. The house and stables both have accessible toilets. A hoist for the stables’ ground floor bedroom can be provided upon request.
If you require a hospital bed this can be arranged with 6 weeks’ notice.
