What does your venue offer school trips
LEVEL 1 Reward and School Day Trips St Mary’s Stadium Southampton offers fully hosted school day trips at St Mary’s Stadium, giving pupils the chance to compete, explore, problem solve and build confidence across a wide mix of activities. The venue is fully indoor, making it a reliable year-round option for schools that need a trip to run smoothly whatever the weather.
A visit can be built as a pure reward day, a structured enrichment visit, a transition or confidence-building day, a leavers celebration, a college group experience, a youth group visit, or an alternative provision session. Each trip is planned around the group size, age range, timings and objectives.
Activities can include climbing walls, high ropes, 9-hole mini golf, AR darts, ClayShot booths, racing simulators, football simulators, golf simulators, pool tables, arcade games and our immersive GameBox room. Pupils rotate through selected activities in managed groups, with hosts supporting the flow, briefings, timing and activity setup.
LEVEL1 is not a passive school trip. Pupils are actively involved from the moment they arrive, working in teams, taking on challenges, celebrating wins, building resilience and enjoying a shared experience that feels memorable, modern and different from a standard day out.

What is typically included on your school trips relating to Key Stage or Curriculum Topic info
Each visit can be shaped around the school’s aims, whether that is reward, transition, confidence building, wellbeing, teamwork, enrichment or end-of-term celebration.
Typical links include:
- Primary and Key Stage 2: teamwork, communication, confidence, physical activity, basic numeracy through scoring and timing, trying new challenges and reflecting on effort.
- Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4: leadership, resilience, problem solving, decision making, communication, teamwork, personal development and healthy competition.
- PE and PSHE: confidence, movement, coordination, respect, inclusion, resilience, self-belief and positive group behaviour.
- Maths and STEM: scoring, timings, leaderboards, simulator technology, angles, measurement, reaction time and performance improvement.
- Post-16 and college groups: employability, communication, customer experience, sport, events, business, hospitality and group dynamics.
Schools can choose a fun-first rewards visit or add learning elements such as workbooks, reflection tasks, activity scorecards, certificates, prizes or team challenges.
Group sizes
LEVEL1 can support small groups through to large school cohorts. The venue can accommodate up to 400 guests, with up to 160 participants active across activities at one time. School trips are normally split into smaller rotation groups so pupils move safely and smoothly around the venue.
Typical school trip groups can range from around 10 pupils to 100+ pupils, depending on the visit format, activity mix and time available. Larger year groups can be managed through timed rotations across different activity zones.
Certain activities have specific capacities, age, height or suitability considerations. These are discussed during the planning stage so the final itinerary is suitable for the group.
Materials provided
LEVEL1 can provide optional workbooks, scorecards, reflection tasks and challenge-based resources for learning and development visits. These can be linked to teamwork, confidence, communication, resilience, problem solving, leadership, health and fitness, numeracy, careers or employability.
Resources can be adapted for the age and objectives of the group. Teachers can request sample materials before the visit, and the final tasks can be shaped around the desired outcomes where enough notice is provi
Photography, Filming & Audio Restrictions
Schools and group leaders may usually take photographs and short videos for school or personal use, subject to their own safeguarding, consent and media policies. Groups should not intentionally film or photograph other members of the public without permission.
Commercial filming, promotional content, media visits or third-party use must be agreed with LEVEL1 and Southampton FC in advance. Some areas may have additional restrictions depending on fixtures, events, operational requirements or club guidance.
Risk assessment
LEVEL1 operates with activity-specific risk assessments, trained hosts, duty manager oversight, daily safety checks and clear emergency procedures. Risk assessment information can be shared with schools in advance to support their own educational visit planning.
Each visit includes a welcome and safety briefing, managed activity rotations and staff supervision across the venue. Schools are expected to complete their own visit risk assessment using the information supplied by LEVEL1 and any requirements from their local authority, academy trust or organisation.
Incidents, near misses or safety concerns are recorded through the venue’s internal reporting procedures and escalated through Southampton FC health, safety and safeguarding processes where required.

Bespoke rates can be provided for reward trips, enrichment days, transition visits, leavers events, college groups, youth groups and alternative provision. Supervising adult requirements, any applicable group rates and optional extras can be discussed at enquiry stage and built into the final quote.
Clothing requirements
Students should wear comfortable clothing suitable for physical activity. Trainers or secure closed-toe shoes are required for most activities. Sandals, flip-flops, high heels and loose footwear are not suitable for activity participation.
For climbing and high ropes, long hair should be tied back and loose jewellery, lanyards or accessories should be removed. Skirts and dresses are not recommended for climbing or high ropes. Safety equipment will be supplied where required.
First Aid
LEVEL1 has first-aid trained staff on site and duty managers trained to manage incidents and escalate where required. First aid procedures are in place across the venue, and incidents are recorded through internal reporting processes.
Schools should follow their own policy for educational visits and provide relevant medical or access information before arrival where this may affect participation, supervision or emergency planning.
Available facilities
Facilities include indoor activity zones, toilets, accessible toilets, seating areas, spaces for group briefings and supervised breaks, plus access to St Mary’s Stadium tour areas where booked as part of the visit.
Packed lunch or catering arrangements can be discussed during the booking process, depending on the group size, schedule and venue operations. Pocket money is not required for the visit, although some arcade or optional add-on elements may be available depending on the itinerary.
Coach and minibus drop-off arrangements can be discussed in advance, with on-site parking managed through the venue’s usual procedures.
Accessibility & disabled facilities
LEVEL1 is based within St Mary’s Stadium and can support accessible visits, with lift access, ramps and accessible toilet facilities available. Activities can be tailored where possible for pupils with additional needs, mobility requirements or sensory considerations.
Not every activity will be suitable for every participant, so schools should discuss wheelchair access, SEND support, medical requirements, sensory needs or activity adaptations with the LEVEL1 team before booking. LEVEL1 is not a specialist SEN provider, but the team will work with schools to make visits as inclusive and manageable as possible.
Opening times
School trips are available by pre-booking, typically during daytime education slots from Monday to Thursday between 9am and 4pm, subject to availability, fixtures and venue operations.
General public opening hours vary during term time, school holidays, bank holidays and matchdays, so all school group visits should be arranged in advance with the LEVEL1 team.
