Cleopatra: The Experience is an engaging, educational experience for school children and enriches historical learning by exploring the grandeur of Egypt’s last queen in an unprecedented immersive experience. Visitors can explore key moments in Cleopatra’s life, including her coronation and her time in Rome, through various immersive technologies and historical displays. A 3D hologram, 360º projections, augmented reality, virtual reality, a free-roaming metaverse and more will transport you from submerged Alexandria to the palaces and battles that marked the history of the queen who defied Rome.

Information boards provide information on her life, loves and legacy, and original artefacts, a vast interactive map and digital mirrors bring her story to life like never before. The experience also covers significant interactions and events between Cleopatra and the Roman Empire, such as her relationship with Julius Caesar and the Battle of Actium.  

The exhibition is recommended for ages 5 and above. Younger children may sometimes find it difficult to keep the metaverse and VR headsets on due to size, but the experience is open to all age groups. For larger groups (e.g. around 100 people), we would recommend splitting into two groups – for example, one arriving at 10:00 am and the other at 10:15 am. 

We can provide a pdf version of the experience’s souvenir programme and an educational resource for pupils.  

Visitors are welcome to take photos and videos for private use and share them on your social media channels. Please do so without flash and without tripods or additional equipment. Commercial use of the photos is not permitted – contact us if you are planning such use.

There is no dress code for this experience; casual/comfortable attire and footwear is recommended. 

Our security supervisors are first-aid trained. In addition, Excel medics are available on call throughout the day, and we also have a first-aid kit on-site.

The experience is fully wheelchair accessible, and we have accessible toilets. We do not have SEN staff.
