Bosworth Battlefield Heritage Centre offers an immersive and engaging education experience exploring one of the most significant battles in English History – the battle of Bosworth in 1485, where King Richard III met his end and the Tudors dynasty began.
Bosworth Battlefield is also home to many Roman Archaeological finds. During an archaeological dig, a remains of a Roman temple were found.
Our school programmes are tailored to Key Stages 1 – 4 and include:

We offer a variety of educational workshops and tours covering Battle of Bosworth as well as Romans. Visits can include guided tours of the battlefield trail, storytelling sessions, object-handling workshops, and role-playing activities.

Group sizes
We allow a maximum of up to 32 students in a group and can accommodate 3 groups in a day. Workshops and tours can be adapted to suit different group sizes and age ranges. Certain activities may have smaller group size requirements for safety and quality of experience. A minimum number/price applies.
Materials provided
Yes, we provide pre-visit resource packs, including background information, activity suggestions, and risk assessment templates. Many of these resources link directly to National Curriculum requirements. Additional downloadable materials and sample lesson plans are available on our website.
Photography, filming & audio restrictions
Photography is permitted during visits for personal and educational use. However, filming and audio recording during guided tours or within certain exhibitions may be restricted to protect intellectual property and visitor privacy.
Risk assessment
We provide a general risk assessment to visiting schools, outlining key hazards and control measures. A specific workshop risk assessment is also provided. Teachers are encouraged to conduct their own site visit prior to the trip to complete their individual risk assessments. Our staff are trained in first aid and safeguarding procedures.

- Our packages for primary and secondary groups are £9 per student.
- Further Education and University Groups: Prices vary based on group size and workshop customization. Please contact for a tailored quote.
- Supervising Adults: Typically, one free adult place is offered for every 8 paying students.
- Booking: advance booking is essential. A provisional booking will be confirmed once a booking form is returned.
Clothing requirements
We recommend sensible outdoor clothing and sturdy footwear as parts of the visit include walking around the battlefield trail, which can be uneven or muddy, especially in wet weather. For role-play activities, simple costumes may be provided, but no special clothing is needed from students unless they are specified in ad

Visiting groups should bring their own qualified first aider and first aid kit. In case of emergency, trained staff will provide assistance and contact emergency services if needed.

Opening times
– Main season (March to October): Open daily from 10.00am – 5.00pm.
– Winter season (November to February): Open Wednesday to Sunday, from 10.00am – 4.00pm.
– Closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day, and New Year’s Day (group visits may be accommodated outside normal opening hours by prior arrangement)
