Teacher insight reveals how YMCA Lakeside combines outdoor adventure with practical support for school groups. Set on the shores of Windermere, YMCA Lakeside offers a 100-acre self-contained site, with accommodation, dining, the lake and activity zones all within easy walking distance.
Staff rooms provide direct access to both boys’ and girls’ corridors for easier overnight supervision, while en-suite dormitories encourage pupils to develop independence with support from YMCA staff. From adaptive sailing to team-building challenges, activities help pupils build confidence, teamwork and new skills.
