Curriculum-Linked Science & Conservation

KS2 modules such as Mountain Monkey Madness, Species Survival, and Working Scientifically delve into adaptation, food chains, and environmental data collection all during forest walks. KS3 & KS4 sessions spotlight adaptation, evolution, natural history, and conservation science through hands-on guided tours 

Educator-led experience: £9 per student including a 1-hour expert-led guided tour with curriculum focus and 1:5 adult supervision Self-led option: £7.50 per student, complete with learning materials and video resources for independent exploration

Visitor paths are have designated guides on each corner, the guides ensure safety and sustain the exciting experience for both visitors and wildlife, offering excellent nuggets of Barbary macaque info.

Facilities include museum-grade video rooms, play areas, a monkey-shaped willow maze, shelter spaces, a café, shop, and picnic tipi, perfect for group breaks

The forest contributes significantly to Barbary macaque research and conservation; 80% of known macaque behaviour insights stem from studies done within our parks.

Trentham Monkey Forest also provides a range of educational resources, including fun facts, quizzes, and activity sheets, which are perfect for families and educators looking to learn more about our playful primates. There are fantastic play spaces onsite, perfect for energetic young minds! Including a Brass Rubbing Primate Trail where little ones can draw, watch and play all things primate. In addition to this, there’s a monkey-shaped Willow Maze for the class to explore, where they can learn the anatomy of a Barbary macaque whilst being lost inside one’s belly!
