What do you offer on your School Trip Residential
With an exciting voyage across the Solent to get here. Tapnell Farm is set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with uninterrupted rural and sea views, stunning sunsets and beautiful beaches on our doorstep.
Boasting numerous awards, our attractions and experiences are designed to capture and delight children’s imaginations. These include the Farm Park, Aqua Park, Football Golf course, Archery, Axe Throwing, bike rides and country hikes.
Off site activities can include Alum Bay & The Needles, Carisbrooke Castle, Osborne House, Fossil hunting and beach visit, Blackgang Chine, Wildheart Trust Animal Santuary. Our friendly team will be happy to discuss options, book excursions – and help plan your itinerary for your stay.
We offer a teacher-led residential experience with lots of great activities both on and off site, which we can tailor make and book for you. We can also book your ferry crossing.
Accommodation is provided in ‘off-grid’ converted cabins with three or four bunkbeds in each, sleeping between 6 – 8 children. Charging facilities available. A modern shower block provides toilet and shower facilities (total 14 showers and 12 toilets, including accessible toilet/shower rooms). We can cater for approximately 100 students, with no more than two school groups at a time. Separate teacher accommodation close to students accommodation.
Bed and board includes 3 meals a day, plus 2 evenings of entertainment (eg evening disco / evening cinema). Catering is provided by our award winning The Cow restaurant which caters for all dietary requirements.

An all-weather attraction with plenty of play areas, indoors and out, to keep everyone entertained: pedal go-karts, jumping pillows, crazy golf, zip wires, sledge slides, trampolines and straw play barn, plus amazing animals in the paddocks (including wallabies and meerkats) and animal barn.
We provide fantastic educational experiences for all age groups, based around our animals and the farm.
There is a daily schedule of animal talks your group is able to attend – for bigger groups we may schedule a private talk for your visit.

Archery + Axe Throwing at Tapnell Farm are all-weather Target Sports, run from our purpose-built ranges, housed inside a covered barn.

Photography, Filming & Audio Restrictions
We request prior notification of any intention to take photographs or film.
There are no restrictions to photographing/recording your students during their visit provided they do not capture anyone not part of the group – and subject to authorization by individual members of Tapnell staff (which we would organize). We can also take photographs/film of your group if you are happy for us to use for marketing purposes.
Risk assessments, public liability, and any other essential documents will be sent with your booking confirmation. They are also available to view on the website.
Teachers are also invited to visit the site in advance (free of charge) to view all facilities.
Pricing
Bed and board (3 meals per day) + 2 evenings of entertainment is charged at £72 per person per night
Farm Park – £10.80 per person. 1 teacher per 5 children goes free.
Aqua Park – £15 per participant. 1 teacher per 10 children goes free.
Football Golf – £6 per participant. 1 teacher per 10 children goes free.
Archery – £144 for 12 participants. Additional participants £10pp.
Axe Throwing – £192 for 16 participants. Additional participants £10pp.
First Aid
We always advise groups to bring a First Aider along although we have First Aid trained staff across site. Lifeguards are on duty at the Aqua Park.

Accessibility & Disabled Facilities
Where we are based on a farm, some areas can be tricky to navigate but we want to welcome everybody to Tapnell, so please get in touch to discuss any queries or individual requirements. There are two good accessible toilet and shower rooms in the shower block next to the accommodation, accessible toilets and a good toilet/wash room in the Farm Park and The Cow restaurant is accessible too.
