What we offer on a school trip
Are you looking for a different and exciting science show that comes to your school?
Science and Dinosaur Dome is a unique ‘Digital Mobile Dome’ experience which comes to your school and provides museum-quality educational service with our 360 degree giant surround screen.
We can provide shows that fit in to your science teaching activities, giving students an interactive and enjoyable experience that they will not forget.
Programmes can be partial constructed by the school in advance of visit to reflect current classroom subjects. shows can be mixed during the day with different shows in the afternoon perhaps.
Secondary School programme available with full planetarium shows and film, see Spitz films section.
Please ensure you plan your schools event early with us, as we can take booking 6 to 8 months in advance. Certain dates during a term can be very busy.
Shows can be typically 45 minutes in length but can be longer for older pupils. Rocks and Fossils programme is one hour and includes rock/fossils samples to hold. Infant Schools are recommended to have 30-35 minutes for Reception and Y1.

Areas Visited
We will visit any area – UK wide.
What is typically included on our school trips
Please visit our Schools Programme website with gives details of Primary and Secondary school programmes. We cover from Reception all the way through school to A-level Astronomy and Physics Click www.sciencediscoverydome.co.uk for details of our current available shows.
In addition to presenter-led shows we can offer amazing all-surround films. These are the same as ones shown in large fixed planetariums, for example Black Holes – the Other Side of Infinity?, Oasis in Space? about Earth’s place in the Solar System, and the cartoon film Zula Patrol – Under the Weather? for younger children.
We are excited to add to our secondary school programme four full-surround films, designed especially for older students, using our new 360-degree projection system from the USA. These films wrap around and over the viewer on the whole surface of the dome, and are the type of films presented in fixed planetariums in science centres, but we will bring them to your school!
Our Dinosaur show is unique to the UK. We are the only in-school provider of a dinosaur topic subject consisting of a fossil workshop and a dome film experience. See our website www.dinosaurdome.co.uk
The Dinosaur Show:
The show includes dinosaur pictures in 3D using 3D glasses (provided) and also real dinosaur fossils to hold and examine. Our giant 180 degree projector is used to walk through a dinosaur landscape.
The show starts with time travel back to the Jurassic times and pictures of early earth landscapes. The programme then gives an interactive introduction to dinosaurs and talks about the fossils in the local Jurassic coast. 3D picture of dinosaurs are used in the show. Real dinosaur fossils for the children to hold and examine are included.
The show ends with possible ways of dinosaur extinction such as a large meteorite. We then look at the stars using the planetarium. We observe many shooting stars and the night’s sky. An extensive Rocks and Fossils collection is available to examine and some sample can be purchase by the children, if desired. Makes a great day suitable for reception onwards and can include KS1/KS2 materials with rocks and soils.
Fractal Dome:
Award Winning ‘Fractal’ Programme comes to the Science Dome
Fractals is the spectacular, award-winning fulldome planetarium show that takes viewers on a tour of the fractals in nature and zooms through infinitely complex mathematical fractals.
Featuring original music, the show is both educational and highly entertaining, and suitable for audiences 3 and up. See our Website www.fractaldome.com for information and free maths worksheets and teacher’s packs on natural fractals.
Group Sizes Catered For
