We also believe learning and history should be fun!

What is typically included on our school trips?

The day includes two guided workshops, a guided tour of the museum of around 30 minute’s duration each and a tour of Stratford with William Shakespeare in person. Lesson plans are included.

The museum has a choice of three different ‘days’ to choose from:

*A Tudor Day (guided tours and workshop: discover different aspects of life in the Tudor period, including what it was like in the theatre, the army and crime and punishment). Plus a guided tour of Stratford with William Shakespeare.

*A Shakespeare / Entertainment Day (guided tours and workshop: discover the language, insults and compliments of Shakespeare and theatre). Plus a guided tour of Stratford with William Shakespeare.

*A Crime & Punishment Day (guided tours and workshop: meet the gaoler and be involved in a trial). Plus a guided tour of Stratford with William Shakespeare.

Group Sizes Catered For

From a minimum of 20 to a maximum of 120.

Materials, Resources & Information Provided

We provide a lesson plan and risk assessment on booking.

Photography, Filming & Audio Restrictions

We are happy for children to take photographs but would require permission in advance to take video.

Risk Assessment Details

A risk assessment is provided on booking. However, teachers are more than welcome to undertake a recce and risk assessment in person.

Pricing Information

The cost of the trip is £10 per pupil (£8.34 + VAT) and includes a full programme from 10am until 3pm with the workshops, tours, a lesson plan, risk assessment and a place to eat packed lunches. Teachers /assistants are free on ratio 1:10 (but we are quite flexible).

Clothing Requirements

We would suggest comfortable shoes and appropriate clothing for walking around the town, as we cannot predict the British weather. Some schools also like to come dressed in Tudor costume, which add a lot of fun to the day for the children (suggestions can be found on our webpage).

Available Facilities

We have a small gift shop on site with appropriate-priced items. We would suggest pocket money of around £5. We have a covered area in which packed lunches can be eaten. Here is only one toilet on site, but the tour around the town will include a ‘toilet stop’ on route.  

Accessibility & Disabled Facilities

Due to the historic nature of the building, there venue may not be suitable for children with mobility issues. However, two of the workshops are on ground floor level, the tour around the town is suitable for wheelchairs and even within the museum the stairs are not too arduous and there are plenty of plays to sit.

Other Information

The Tudor World is in the centre of Stratford upon Avon. However, coaches are usually able to stop and disembark and collect their passengers opposite the museum and then park at the Leisure Centre.

On warm days, children can eat their park lunches in the park by the river, at the bottom of the road.

The train station is a 15-minute walk away.
