What makes us a great choice for education?

As above, we have over 30 years of experience in the farm-park industry! The farm is certainly a nostalgic place for many of our wonderful visitors – they first visited as children themselves, and now they are bringing their own children too. In recent years we have been refurbing much of the farm and making it more interactive and fun than ever. We have new play areas, rare breeds and even a new falconry centre!

What is typically included on our school trips?

We offer several packages for organized groups, our main one being the Guided Group package which is very popular with schools. This main package is adapted to suit specific topics for both KS1 and KS2, with links back to the national curriculum. We also offer specific packages based on books (such as ‘Farmer Duck’) and topics (such as lifecycles). The packages include a member of staff (a ‘guide’), to take the group round, get out animals for them and deliver educational information about each animal – whilst making the visit as fun and interactive as possible!

Group Sizes Catered For

We cater for a minimum of 20 per group. 

Materials, Resources & Information Provided

Our education team is made up of 4 members of staff –  two of whom are ex-teachers. Together they design work sheets, activities and lesson plans for each package all of which link back to the national curriculum. These resources are included, as is the main resource when they visit us – the animals! 

Photography, Filming & Audio Restrictions

They are authorized to take all of the above. 

Risk Assessment Details

We send out our generic risk assessments to all groups on booking, we also offer ‘preliminary passes’ in which a few adults can come onsite before the day of their visit free of charge to complete their own risk assessments. We are also happy to provide additional risk assessments if requested.

Pricing Information

All groups receive a generous discount; please see our website for more details as price varies slightly depending on which package you opt for. 

Clothing Requirements

No specific clothing is required other than a good pair of shoes as all visits involve a field-walk. In the winter, wellies are always a good idea! 

First Aid Information

We have at least 3 first aid trained staff members onsite daily, with first aid kits around the site. Bringing an additional first aider is not necessary.

Available Facilities

• Lunch barn to store and eat packed lunches (we request you bring your own for ease, but onsite catering is available daily for additional food, hot drinks etc).
• Toilet blocks, disabled toilets, baby change.
• If a room is required for privacy/changing, this can be arranged if you can call us in advance.
• Pocket money is only required if you tick the ‘gift shop’ option on your booking form, and depending on which package you choose.
• Onsite classroom.

Accessibility & Disabled Facilities

We are DDA compliant, with all buildings and walkways wheelchair accessible. Disabled toilets are available and an additional private room can be provided for changing, administering medication etc. Please speak to our helpful team about this on booking. 

Opening Hours & Information

We are open every day of the year other than Christmas Day and Boxing Day! Our opening hours are 10am – 5pm.
