Calling all Muggles! To celebrate the 20th anniversary of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, the North Yorkshire Moors Railway is offering free entry to all children dressed as witches and wizards from Saturday 24th – Monday 26th June.
Children who visit in fancy dress will travel free along the line with a full paying adult fare* and will also receive a commemorative badge for taking part.
The weekend promises to be a brilliant experience for all ages, explore the ‘wand-erful’ station of Goathland, the location for Hogsmeade platform in the first Harry Potter film and ‘Slytherin’ to the newly built shop at Goathland station, which is packed full of magical Harry Potter memorabilia.
The setting for many a magical movie, North Yorkshire Moors Railway is one of the most historic lines in the North of England, taking visitors on picturesque journeys along an 18 mile railway line aboard steam and heritage diesel trains. The railway passes through stunning scenery, from wooded valleys to beautiful countryside, stopping at charming villages and spectacular seaside locations.
