An exciting new chapter in eco-friendly outdoor accommodation is coming to Hertfordshire. In Spring 2026, the brand new Landpod Village will open at the Cuffley Active Learning Centre, offering innovative off-grid residential experience designed to connect children, teachers and parents with nature in a meaningful, sustainable way.
Within the village there will be 8 new Land Pods sleeping up to 48 students plus staff – all cleverly designed with an open-plan layout featuring two cosy bunk beds, powered by a 60W solar panel. The pods include internal LED lighting, a Landpod Powerhub, and are built from low-maintenance, sustainable materials. Fully off-grid and thoughtfully crafted to blend into woodland settings, they provide all the essentials for an immersive stay, without sacrificing comfort.
As part of the Active Learning Group, Cuffley Active Learning Centre is already a well-established destination for outdoor learning, particularly school residentials, welcoming 40,000 young people each year. Cuffley Active Learning Centre offers fun, hands-on day trips and residentials for children aged 4–18, designed to build resilience, teamwork, and confidence. Set within a stunning Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) which spans over 90 acres, the woodland environment is perfect for both adventure and reflection. Activities include high and low ropes, climbing, archery, orienteering, problem-solving, and more.
Residential stays range from two to five days and are tailored to each group’s needs. Whether it’s a reward trip, curriculum-linked visit, or end-of-year celebration, Cuffley is the perfect place to create unforgettable experiences for children.
