What do you offer on your sleddog adventure experience for school trips

Mynydd Sleddog Adventures offers a truly unique and immersive outdoor learning experience for schools, designed to inspire and engage young people through hands-on activities with our incredible sled dogs. Our educational trips align with the Emotional Health and Wellbeing Resilience Framework, helping students build confidence, resilience, and teamwork in a supportive and adventurous environment.
Through our sessions, students develop leadership skills, strengthen positive friendships (both human and canine), and enhance their physical and mental wellbeing. Our interactive activities can encourage young people to embrace the outdoors, learn about dog behaviour and communication, and understand the responsibilities of working with animals safely.
We can introduce students to the Five Freedoms of Animal Welfare, teaching them about responsible pet ownership and the importance of animal welfare, while also instilling a sense of environmental awareness and responsibility. Whether it’s learning how to care for and handle working dogs, exploring the natural world, or taking part in exciting challenges that push them beyond their comfort zones, our educational experiences are designed to empower and inspire.
For many students, this is a chance to engage in a completely new and unforgettable adventure, developing valuable life skills while connecting with nature and animals in a meaningful way.
If you are looking for a short hour(ish) session we can offer our Meet the Team session where students can meet and learn about working sled dogs. This is a fantastic opportunity for all ages to meet some of our super working dogs as well as our puppies, newest team additions and our beautiful retired veterans.
What makes you a great choice for educational groups

Mynydd Sleddog Adventures is a one-of-a-kind educational experience that combines outdoor learning, animal interaction, and personal development in a way that few other providers can offer. We provide an authentic working sleddog environment, allowing students to engage with real sled dogs in a structured, safe, and inspiring setting.
Our educational visits are designed to support young people’s resilience, confidence, and teamwork skills, using the Emotional Health and Wellbeing Resilience Framework as a foundation. We go beyond traditional outdoor activities by integrating lessons on dog behaviour, animal welfare, environmental responsibility, and leadership—all while fostering positive friendships and mental wellbeing.
Schools and youth groups choose us because we provide an experience that is both thrilling and educational. The hands-on nature of our sessions ensures that learning is engaging, memorable, and impactful. Many young people, including those who may struggle in a traditional classroom, thrive in our interactive, outdoor setting, building self-belief and a deeper connection to nature and animals.
Unlike other activity-based trips, our focus on working dogs, ethical animal care, and real-world skills makes us a unique and valuable choice for schools looking to enrich their curriculum with something truly special.

- Animal welfare and care – Explore the Five Freedoms of Animal Welfare, responsible dog ownership, and the importance of ethical working practices.
- Dog handling and teamwork – Hands-on activities in how to safely interact with and care for working dogs.
- Outdoor learning and adventure – Experience a guided trek with the dogs, learning navigation, teamwork, and resilience along the way.
- Physical and mental wellbeing focus – Activities that encourage confidence-building, social interaction, and stress reduction through outdoor engagement.
- Leadership and team-building challenges – Opportunities for students to develop decision-making, communication, and problem-solving skills.
