Medieval Battlefield School Trips take school groups on an exciting educational adventure. Students will be transported back in time to the Middle Ages – a period in which many historic battles were fought. Taking your class to the real site of a Medieval battle will encourage pupils to fully immerse themselves into the history. Uncovering military tactics, exploring Medieval artillery, and analysing the significance of the Medieval Castle – Medieval Battlefield School Trips provide educational groups with historically stimulating educational experiences.

There are numerous Medieval Battlefield School Trip destinations listed on UK School Trips. English Heritage oversees the upkeep of a number of Medieval Battlefield sites. One such site is the Abbey and Battlefield of the Battle of Hastings, which took place in 1066. Here, school groups can explore one of England’s most important historic sites – students can stand on the exact spot where the armies of King Harold and William the Conqueror fought. Another site is Pevensey Castle, which was where William the Conqueror first landed in the UK. The History of Pevensey Castle stretches back over 16 centuries, providing students with a historically rich site to explore.

Medieval Battlefield School Trips are an excellent way to engage and motivate pupils in the subject of history. Below, we have listed a selection of Historic Battlefields for you to choose from:
