What we offer on a school trip
Any visit to Llancaiach Fawr Manor is entertaining but what may not be immediately obvious is that it is also a learning experience – for all ages. We are proud holders of the Sandford Award for Excellence in Heritage Education in recognition of our work with schools across the country. For schools and colleges we offer a range of formal education and learning opportunities at all Key Stages as well as specialist vocational modules including Welsh Bacc and Leisure, Tourism and Business studies. Student teacher visits and INSET days are also available.

To supplement the general presentation and themes in the Manor House we also offer Workshop Sessions by a member of our Education Team on a wide variety of themes including; Children’s Lives, The Written Word, Medicine, Sweetmeats and Music Master.
What makes us a great choice for education
Llancaiach Fawr offers an immersive experience for students. Our USP is First Person Interpretation which means that students walk through the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries learning about the lives of the servants who are guiding them around the Manor.

What is typically included on our school trips
A tour of the Manor house lasting 1.5 hours. Interactive plague bag making as part of tour (optional). There are also then additional workshops available at £2 per child or a package of 3 workshops with tour included at £10 per head. Visits can be tailored to topic and bespoke workshops are available with 1 months notice.
Group Sizes Catered For
We do school tours at 10.00am and 11.30am. We can take 90 at each intake.

Exhibition worksheets can be downloaded from the Website prior to visit.
Photography, Filming & Audio Restrictions
There are no restrictions outside the Manor but no recording of any type inside.
Risk Assessment Details
Although there is a risk assessment on our education page www.llancaiachfawr.co.uk, shoud teachers chose to conduct their own, a visit can be arranged by calling our admin team who will arrange a time and date for you.

Pricing Information
£6 per child. Additional workshops £2 per child. For every ten children, one adult goes free and and 1 to 1s go free. Additional adults – normal entry rates apply – £8.50 adult or £6.95 concession.

Shop, cafe, conservatory restaurant. Education Block available as a base for schools and to eat packed lunches. Barn for workshops etc.

Opening Hours & Information
Tuesday – Sunday 10.00am until 5.00pm. Last entry to the Manor House is 3.45pm. School tours are at 10.00am, 11.30am and 1.00pm.
