WelcomeDear Educational Visits Co-ordinator, I hope you have kept well over this difficult winter. One year on from Covid and I finally feel as though there is a glimmer of light at the end of this very long tunnel. With the roll out of the vaccine I am hoping for schools to be back in spring along with school trips and some form of normality where we can see our friends and family. Below is a great selection of our latest partners who would love the chance to support you. But first I have an update for you on the fantastic #saveoutdoored campaign from Eve Shrimpton. Please support this as much as you can: As we come up to the first anniversary of the first covid-lockdown team #SaveOutdoorEd are preparing to ramp up the pressure on the government to support our sector. The Department for Education is conducting another review into their current guidance on school trips in mid-March, and so we need to make sure that our voice is being heard loud and clear in the run up to that. We've still got two clear asks of the government: For funding to plug the enormous hole these restrictions have created; and for clear guidance as to how and when we can re-open and get our wonderful schools back into the outdoors! So, in the run up to this review and the anniversary of our closure we're asking all of our fantastic supporters to do the following things to raise awareness and put pressure on the government to support our sector: 1.Write to your MP. See #saveoutdoored social media pages for ideas on how and what to write: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram. 2.Sign the petitions: financial support and Funding for OECs 3.Keep sharing your love of the outdoors, send your photos and videos and use the #SaveOutdoorEd Please follow us on social media to be the first to find out about school trips news: Twitter: @UKSchoolTrips Instagram: ukschooltrips |
