What we offer on a school trip
Take a flight in our famous cable cars and escape for the day to the summit of the Heights of Abraham’s 60-acre estate. Take two guided cavern tours into ancient lead mines. Breathe in the fresh Derbyshire air and admire the spectacular views of the surrounding Derwent Valley as you learn our 230-year story and find out why the Heights has been a favorite place to visit for generations.
You’ll find plenty to inspire young visitors and let of steam at the end of the day. The estate includes two indoor exhibition areas and a brand new outdoor classroom space; the Woodland Corner, which is available to hire.
With 60-acres to explore, there are plenty of spots for a picnic. With a free self-guided audio trail, access to two fascinating heritage buildings and endless zig-zag paths in our woodland trails, come along and enjoy this unique and special outdoor classroom.
Educational visits can be reserved in advance, but paid for on the day (to allow for fluctuating numbers). Use the booking form on our special schools page to reserve cable car and estate tickets. https://www.heightsofabraham.com/times-and-tickets/school-visits/
