What we offer on a school trip
Overlooking Cardigan Bay with the chance of seeing dolphins and seals and just 20 metres from a beautiful sandy beach, this Edwardian house is perfect for a UK coastal holiday and is ideal for cheap family breaks or school trips in Wales. Don't miss the amazing petrified forest which is visible at low tide.
Borth is a small village approximately 7 miles from the University Town of Aberystwyth.
There is a regular bus service between Borth and Aberystwyth, and the train has a regular service between Birmingham and Aberystwyth.
We have a bus stop directly outside and we are just a few hundred metres from the train station.
We do not permit pets, but service dogs are very welcome.
We do not permit smoking anywhere in the hostel.
A member of staff is always available on site, including at night (access calling emergency number (the pay phone is in the foyer), or by knocking at the staff house; instructions with a plan are left by reception).
Emergency lighting and fire alarms fitted. We ensure that all guests are evacuated in the event of fire or any emergency requiring evacuation. Arrangements for guests needing assistance to evacuate in case of fire should be discussed beforehand.
Evacuation procedures are displayed in each bedroom.
Mobile phone reception is poor in the immediate vicinity.
There is Wi-Fi at this hostel.
The nearest rail station is Borth which is 0.4 miles away.
There is a regular bus service from the hostel to Aberystwyth. There is also a number of local taxi services who can provide accessible taxis if booked in advance.
The centre of the village is 0.5 miles from the hostel. There is a pavement and street lighting along this route.

You can contact the hostel by phone or e-mail (please see contact information).
Car Parking and Arrival
We have ample on-site parking approximately 15 metres from the main entrance. We would be happy to reserve a place closest to the entrance if required. The floor surface is tarmac and the area closest to the hostel is lit at night.
Access from the car park is via a tarmac driveway with a slight incline. There are four steps with a handrail from here up to the hostel entrance. There are 2 further steps leading to reception.
If you let us know what time you are coming we will do our best to provide assistance moving to and from cars.
Main Entrance and Reception
To enter the hostel there are two doorways. At the front door the threshold is raised. There is then another step up through the manual single leaf main door, which opens outwards. Unfortunately we do not have a portable ramp.
The reception can be found on the ground floor through one single leaf door followed by a narrower single leaf door with a raised threshold. The flooring in the entry hall is carpeted.
The reception desk does not have a low level service section. The flooring in here is carpet, and the room is lit by wall lights. A seat is available here.
Check-in is from 5pm until 10.30 pm and check-out is at 10am. Alternative times may be arranged.
