Willows Activity Farm is the result of a farm diversification programme to create one of the leading leisure attractions in Hertfordshire. With plenty of farmyard animals to discover, the focus is on learning through having fun from its many demonstrations and shows, tractor rides and adventure play.

Ideal for key stages 1 and 2,our curriculum-linked activities and dedicated guides allow you to plan your day at your pace – so you can ensure the children gain the best experience to support learning in the classroom.

We offer curriculum-linked activities for Early Years Learning and KS1. You can choose from 5 different KS1 activities including Being Alive!, Animal Homes, Food glorious food!, Sensational Senses and Same or Different? There are teachers resourced to use in the classroom to plan for the trip and to follow up after the trip. Created for children, our demonstrations and shows are both fascinating and entertaining.

Watch Willows Sheepstakes to see which of our woolly friends is first across the finishing line or listen to Tristan the runaway Tractor's story, as he takes you on a journey with some unexpected twists and turns!

Learning through Discovery:
Discover the many wonderful animals at Willows as your guide* explains all about them, how they are looked after, what they like to eat and the importance of animals to the countryside.

Children can meet rabbits, lambs, goats and ducks in our Farmyard Favourites pens, plus some bigger farm animals including sheep, pigs, cows and alpacas in our paddocks around the Activity Farm.

Our friendly guides ensure that children gain the maximum benefit from their visit as they show you around the Farm Village answering all your questions. Guides are free when requested for bookings of £130 or more. For bookings under this value guides can be booked for a fee.

Woolly Jumpers Indoor Play Barn and Captain Chicken's Egg Dodge
Teachers/Group Leaders have the option, at their discretion, to take their group into Woolly Jumpers indoor play barn and Captain Chicken's Egg Dodge. Guides are not responsible for the group should they enter either activity. Height restrictions apply. Arms and legs must be covered to ride the slides in Woolly Jumpers.

All shows, events and activities are subject to seasonal programme changes and are dependent on weather conditions.

Group Sizes Catered For

Our discounted group rates are applicable to groups of a minimum of 15 paying children. Maximum group size on request.

Materials, Resources & Information Provided

Material for the Early Learning Years and KS1 activities are included together with teachers resources to use in the classroom to plan the trip and for use after the trip. All our guides will also provide you with relevant information and answer questions during your visit.

Photography, Filming & Audio Restrictions

You are allowed to take pictures of the animals and facilities at Willows and children in your own group only or as advised under the school/group photographic policy.

Risk Assessment Details

Willows Activity Farm Village will provides its own risk assessment for a group visit. We also welcome visits by group leaders/teachers to undertake their own risk assessment and do a familiarisation visit prior to their visit. You can book your complimentary familiarisation visit by calling 0870 129 9718.

Education Officer Information

We do not have a dedicated education officer but a group booking advisor and support from all the regulatory bodies to undertaken group bookings.

Pricing Information

Group Booking Admission Prices 2015

For pre-booked groups of a minimum of fifteen or more paying children our group rate from 28th March until 23rd October 2015 is weekdays £9.00 per person (adult and child) and £10 during holidays and weekends (adult and child). For Pumpkin Festival (24th October – 1st November 2015) the price per person is £10.50.).

Under 2's are admitted free to the Activity Farm

One adult FREE with every five paying children as part of a group booking.

On the day of your visit we will issue you an invoice based on the actual number of admissions.

Guides are available when requested on the booking form and are free when the total booking is £130 or more. For bookings under £130 guides can be provided for a fee – please call for details.

Clothing Requirements

We recommend that children bring strong outdoor shoes or wellington boots for their visit depending on the time of year. This is a countryside location and the ground can be uneven and muddy. We also suggest a rainproof jacket.

We have qualified First Aiders on site at all time.

Accessibility & Disabled Facilities

We provide disabled parking and toilets with disabled access. As a countryside location the ground is bumpy but can be navigated in a wheelchair with care.
