What we offer

UKSA enjoys a waterfront location in Cowes on the sunny Isle of Wight and is the perfect location for residential and non-residential watersports and team building programmes.

Come to UKSA with your school or youth group and enjoy the multi-activities UKSA are renowned for. Through our multi-activity days we offer plenty of options for getting young people out on the water. Learn to sail, kayak, windsurf or paddleboard. Or choose raft building and on-the-water team building activities.

Our full or half-day sessions will help build students’ confidence, inspire, motivate and give them a fun day to remember.

What makes us a great choice?

All trips are bespoke with visits designed to be stress free.

Our instructors are fully qualified and work on a ratio of 1:6 for on-the-water activities. Teachers and group leaders do not need any previous watersports experience as our instructors take care of all activities afloat.

Accreditation and Awards

UKSA is accredited by the Council for Learning Outside the Classroom.

Our site, facilities and activities have all been evaluated for learning and safety by the Adventure Activities Licensing Authority and meet the exacting standards required to pass annual inspections.

What is typically included?

We offer multi-activity visits for both schools and youth groups. Activities are tailored to your group’s desire, age and ability and can include; dinghy sailing, stand up paddleboarding, windsurfing, kayaking and more.

Group Sizes Catered For

We cater for groups large and small at UKSA.

Materials, Resources & Information Provided

We can tie visits in to either PE curriculum (for example, many schools have focused on dinghy sailing or kayaking for GCSE), geography, or even maths.

Photography, Filming & Audio Restrictions

Yes, although with our proximity to the water we don’t always recommend children bringing cameras and other electronics. Teachers and leaders are more than welcome to take photos of their group.

Risk Assessment Details

We have risk assessments for all of our day and evening activities, as well as all sites used. Teachers and leaders are more than welcome to complete their own risk assessments or ask the team any queries they may have.

All safety equipment, buoyancy aids, helmets and wetsuits will be provided by UKSA.

First Aid Information

All of our watersports and evening entertainment instructors are fully qualified first aiders.

Available Facilities

Onsite facilities include; dining room serving freshly cooked food, indoor heated swimming pool, drying room for wet gear and a dedicated children’s area.

Accessibility & Disabled Facilities

UKSA have specially trained members of staff, lifts in the main building and a hoist for the swimming pool. We are also able to take disabled people onto the water – please speak to our dedicated Schools and Groups team so we can ensure we meet your needs.

Opening Hours & Information

All year round, with the exception of a few days over the Christmas period.

“It was non-stop fun from first thing in the morning until the evening, the pupils thrived in the environment and you could see real changes in all of them. The food was excellent, the staff were absolutely amazing and were very flexible if we wanted to change anything.”

“The feedback I’ve had from our children and parents has been amazing! The parents in particular have been highly complimentary about the children’s experiences, and the terms ‘unique’ and ‘once in a lifetime’ have been banded around on more than one occasion. In short, let’s get a date in the diary for next year!”

Other Information

We host regular preview weekends so teachers and group leaders can experience firsthand everything we have to offer. A visit will provide the perfect opportunity for you to sample the activities on offer, get to know our team, put our food and accommodation to the test whilst seeing other groups and school visits in action.

Our preview weekends are with our compliments and with no obligation.
