What we offer

Every year we help almost 6,000 children to learn about their local environment through education sessions. The school and community groups that take advantage of Milton Keynes' fantastic outdoor classrooms are amongst the parks' most enthusiastic visitors.

The Parks Trust education team provides a wide range of fun activities, games and guided walks to inspire you and your class.

The Parks Trust run education sessions from its two education centres at Howe Park Wood and Linford Lakes Nature Reserve as well as sessions held within your school's local Parks Trust land (if located in Milton Keynes).

Sessions can cater for EYFS, Key Stages 1-4, after school groups and further education as required. A wide range of activities can be included, such as Dens and Dandelions and Bugs and Minibeasts for KS1 and KS2, and Survival Skills and Woodland Management for KS3 and KS4.

What makes us a great choice?

We provide children with the perfect opportunity to get up close and personal with nature in a safe, fun environment. We offer a wide range of activities for people of all ages and abilities to enjoy, while also teaching them more about wildlife and the natural environment around them.

Photography, Filming & Audio Restrictions

Risk Assessment Details

As part of your pre-visit planning preparations, all site specific and any activity specific risk assessments relevant to your visit can be downloaded from our website www.theparkstrust.com/resources/licences-permits-and-forms

It is important that you carry out your own risk assessment, further to these as pupil responsibility remains with you. If you need any further advice on risk assessments, the carrying of first aid kits, pupil/adult ratios etc. please speak to your school visit coordinator who will have all the relevant details of the requirements you need to meet. Whilst we appreciate that you will need adults to come along to keep your ratios correct, we ask that there are no more than seven adults with each class as it can become distracting with lots of people present. Please contact us if you would like to arrange an accompanied pre visit or if you have any questions about the accessibility of our activities.
