What we offer

The trip to see the Thames Flood Barrier which is the Largest Movable Flood Barrier in the World the return trip takes three hours.

The cruise can be broken up by a stop at Greenwich where you can visit the famous tea clipper Cutty Sark? also the Royal Greenwich Observatory designed by Sir Christopher Wren in 1675 where time began, stand on the Greenwich Meridian the line which separates the east and west hemispheres Longitude 0?. Visit the Queen's House in Greenwich Park, close by was Greenwich Palace birthplace of Queen Elisabeth I and Mary Tudor.

There are shorter trips of two hours to Greenwich and return or one hour return from St Katharine's Pier. Or you can take single trips and meet your coach at Greenwich or take the Dockland Light Railway through Canary Wharf back up to the Tower of London. The choices are numerous.

Taking a boat trip on the Thames in central London is the best way to see many of the London sights. On the way down river we pass the London Eye, Ministry of Defense, Royal Festival Hall, Cleopatra's Needle, Somerset House, The National Theatre, OXO Tower, St Paul's Cathedral, The Globe Theatre of Shakespeare, Wren's House, The Shard, London Bridge, The Monument to the Great Fire of London, HMS Belfast, Tower of London, Tower Bridge, Rotherhithe and St Mary's Church where the Captain of the Pilgrim Ship Mayflower? is buried. Canary Wharf, Isle of Dogs and all the sights of Greenwich as described above and last but not least the Thames Flood Barrier.

Accreditation and Awards

Thames passenger Boats are licensed by the Maritime and Coastguard Agency a Government body who conduct a stringent survey of every vessel annually. We carry a minimum of £10,000,000 passenger liability insurance.

What is typically included?

We provide a commentary by a member of the crew. Your cruise can start from any of the piers we operate from, they are Westminster, St Katharine's (next to the Tower of London) and Greenwich.

Group Sizes Catered For

From 10 up to 150 under normal circumstances, however we do have boats which will carry 400.

Our web site has an extensive history of the Thames where teachers can choose a particular part of Thames History to concentrate on from Roman Times the Vikings through to the Tudors.

First Aid Information

Boat crews are trained in first aid and we have first aid boxes aboard, we are also in radio contact with emergency service including Police, Ambulance, RNLI, Port of London Authority and HM Coastguard.

Available Facilities

Most boats have facilities for drinks but not food. We do not encourage the eating of packed lunches.

Accessibility & Disabled Facilities

We are limited to a maximum of 6 wheelchairs.

Opening Hours & Information

We do not operate Christmas Eve Christmas Day Boxing Day or New Years Day

From April to the end of May we operate boats every 30 minutes from 10 am until 4pm

From June until the first week in September we operate every 30 minutes from 10am until 5pm.

From the end of the first week in September until the end of November we operate from 10am until 4pm.

For the remainder of the year we operate every 40 minutes from 10.20 until 3pm
