What we offer on a school trip
Stump Cross Caverns is one of Britain’s premier show Caves where there incredible geology and formations have been astounding scientists and visitors alike for centuries. Located in Nidderdale on the border of the Yorkshire Dales National Park so not only providing children with an educational visit but also with a enjoyable memorable experience outside the classroom in an area of outstanding natural beauty.
We offer a warm welcome to educational school parties and support key stage learning. We’ll work with you to ensure that your visit covers exactly what you want and always willing to cover new topics. You can bring your class to Stump Cross Caverns to teach them about Victorian lead mines-explorers, changing Britain, Rocks and Fossils, geology and cave formation. Light and dark.
We have a fun dig so children can dig through the sand for fossils which can be found in the sedimentary rock at Stump Cross Caverns.
On your return to the surface, enjoy the facilities of the visitor centre including:
