This is our organisations ethos and something that we firmly believe in; our focus is on creating the right Residential to help you get the most out of your students.
X Adventure specailises in personal and team development residential programmes for schools and youth groups; these can be anything from 2 to 7 days in length. We use adventurous outdoor activities to facilitate group and individual challenge, personal development and team bonding.
Each visit is completely tailored to the aims and objectives of the group and we deliver all of this at our fantastic development Centre on the outskirts of Norwich, only 5 miles from the city Centre, yet in a quiet rural setting full of wildlife.
We have an experienced staff team who are passionate not only about the outdoors but also about making a difference to the guests who visit out Centre. Many schools and groups use us for their transition programmes, enrichment programmes, NEET programmes and personal development programmes.
We work in consultation with every group to ensure we deliver an engaging programme which enables each participant the opportunity to make consequential decisions, to develop clear principles of working together, boost personal confidence, boost self-belief with a clear emphasis on reinforcing positive learning experiences.
This is a powerful and effective way to facilitate fast and long-lasting change. Real experiences, real consequences and real meaning: all transferable and very applicable to the school, social life and the world of work.
We operate under an ethos of 'Challenge by Choice'. This means we will provide a series of challenges to stretch and strengthen the team and its members.
The venue has a number of adventurous activities, including;
First aid training
The Development Centre has some fantastic outdoor activities but also has some great additional indoor space, with a team room capable of seating up to 40 people for conferences, training or team briefing, a lounge and tuck shop, a dining room seating 40 and a fully fitted self-catering kitchen. We also have a large shower and toilet block and dormitory accommodation for up to 36. We also have a tented village capable of accommodating up to 80. All of this surrounds two lakes and a large events field set within a beautiful wooded area.
We also deliver day trips and residential trips throughout the UK; including North Wales, The Peak District and Scotland, delivering activities such as coasteering, Gorge scrambling, rock climbing, mountaineering and canoeing. We can organise the complete trip from start to finish.
We can also offer as an approved activity provider DofE expeditions at Bronze, Silver and Gold levels either on foot or by canoe.

Group Sizes Catered For
We require a minimum of 15 paying residential guests and a maximum of 36 in our main lodge and buildings.
Our bell tent camping village can accommodate an additional 80 to increase the maximum group size to 116.
The camping village can be booked independently from the main accommodation block.
Risk Assessment Details
We can provide a full risk assessment document that covers all activities and locations. We welcome any visit from teaching staff and we positively encourage you to come and meet the team and check out the facilities before your trip.
Main building accommodation costs:
£20 per head per night for 15 - 25 people.
£17 per head per night for 26 - 35 people
£15 per head per night for more than 36 people.
Bell Tent village accommodation costs:
£9.00 per head per night (a minimum of £135.00 per night)
Activities are available from £95 per 1 - hour session (up to 12 participants)
We do not charge for accommodation or activities for visiting teaching staff; teachers are however included in the catering costs.
It is best to talk to us about what your requirements are and then we can look at giving you an accurate quote for your programme. We try where possible to give you an individual package cost, that would include accommodation, activities and if required catering.
First Aid Information
All activity instructors are first aid qualified. We have duty staff onsite throughout the duration of any residential visit who will be first aid trained.
Residential groups can make use of our team room, lounge, dining room and self-catered kitchen. The dining room can seat 40 people. Our dedicated team room can seat up to 40 in a conference or classroom style; it has a projector, screen and white boards. The lounge has comfortable seating for up to 24 with log burners for the colder nights, a TV and table football. Guests can also buy snacks at our dedicated tuck shop in the lounge. All buildings are covered by WIFI.
Facilities also include a covered BBQ area with seating for 60 and indoor dormitory accommodation for up to 36 and a bell tent camping village accommodating up to 80 guests. Guests can also buy snacks at our tuck shop.
We welcome groups who would like to self-cater and have a fully fitted kitchen. However, to take the ease out of the visit we can also offer a fully catered service, which can include breakfast, lunch and an evening meal from as little as £12.00 per person per day.
Accessibility & Disabled Facilities
We cater for a variety of abilities and have some accessible accommodation. Most areas of the Centre are fully accessible although some assistance may be required
Opening Hours & Information
We are open seven days a week throughout the year and will fit our opening times around the groups
We have worked with X-Adventures for over three years. They have guided a range of wilderness trails for the Foundation - working with a range of client groups drawn from Essex and Scotland. The youth participants have ranged from extremely vulnerable youth at risk to leadership potential and in full education. Adrian and has team have managed each particular group with professionalism, kindness, excellent health and safety management and have been able to manage and support us with any crisis that has developed. The company will always go the extra mile to meet the needs of our charity and the participants.
Room Sizes and Facilities
The Centre has two 9 bed dorms, a large 12 bed dorm and three 2 bed dorms; all dorms have central heating and bunkbeds. Sheets and pillowcases are provided, sleeping bags are usually supplied by the group; however, duvets and covers can be hired at an extra cost.
There are separate 2 bed teacher rooms, which have WIFI and coffee and tea making facilities. There are ample shower and toilet facilities within a separate block. There is a separate staff toilet and shower room.
