What we offer

Each self-contained unit offers bedrooms of varying size, adequate bathrooms, lounge, dining room, meeting room and the bigger units have their own games room too. In addition, there are other facilities on our 52 acre site, including a heated indoor swimming pool, sports hall, games yard, sports field, lake, walks and a selection of ‘DIY’ activities – orienteering, disc golf, nature trail and team building.

The Quinta has been left in Trust by Charles Price (co-founder of McVities biscuits) to be used for Christian purposes. Initially a Barnardos home, Quinta is now a Christian Conference Centre welcoming Christian groups and Schools from all over the Country.

As part of your school residential experience at Quinta we appreciate and value the opportunity to share with you something of our faith and values and the Christian heritage of the centre.

We have a member of the management team on duty 24/7.

Doors to the accommodation have code locks and we have CCTV around site.

Accreditation and Awards

We have not applied for the Quality badge and do not require an AALA license, however the activity providers who offer adventure activities on our site do hold the AALA license.

Risk Assessment Details

We are able to provide our site-specific general risk assessments, including a fire risk assessment to help group leaders carry out their necessary forms. We can provide any necessary information however we would recommend new groups do a pre-visit to gain familiarity with the site.

Our intelligent detection system is checked regularly and we are happy to carry out a fire drill during your visit if you wish.

As part of the welcoming, the group will be told what to do in the case of a fire alarm going off.

Other Information

With lots of opportunities for educational visits and attractions in close proximity, Quinta is a great place to build a bespoke residential experience. You can use the centre as a base to explore, or make full use of all the site and grounds have to offer for bringing learning outside of the classroom, team building and adventurous activities.

In the evenings groups can enjoy wide games in the dark, games in the sports hall, films, talent shows or discos in the meeting room, or eating marshmallows around the campfire.

We welcome Christian and non-religious schools and would work closely with you to create a programme to suit your needs. Our Christian input is tailored to the group and made relevant to the theme and aim of their residential. Many find the short daily reflection a helpful and enjoyable part of their stay.

Please note alcohol is not permitted on site.
