What we offer

Matlock Farm Park is a family friendly farm park with a wide range of animals. They also offer horse riding lessons and pony trekking.

We offer outdoor learning experiences in a scenic, rural environment, home to wide range of native and non-native animals. We offer guided tours and talks and interactive experiences to link in with what is being covered at school, in the settings of farmland, animal barn, wildlife garden and woodland. We have a classroom to offer for any indoor work that schools would like to do as part of the visit, which can also be used for indoor picnicking. We have a large marquee for larger groups to have packed lunches in. There are several outdoor play areas with equipment, large sand-pit, indoor bouncy castle, horse riding school with purpose built arena, cafe, small go-kart track

What makes us a great choice?

We aim to tailor make a great value, rewarding visit for each school, suited to individual requirements. We provide experienced staff to be hands-on and personable during your visit, being sensitive to the needs of children and inclusive for all. We offer a variety of sessions which groups can choose from, as well as being able to have free time at the farm park to leisurely wander and allow children to let off steam! Once in the farm park, groups are welcome to stay as long as they like.

Risk Assessment Details

We provide a Risk Assessment for Schools and Groups, which we can email to schools and groups booking with us. Teachers and Leaders are welcome to come and carry out their own Risk Assessment prior to the visit, when arranging a suitable time and date with us to do this.

Pricing Information

From £5.50 per child (depending on the number of guided sessions chosen, ie half day or full day), including animal feed and guided activities. Extra sessions may incur a small charge extra per child (pony rides subject to availability) please contact us to discuss your requirements and budget. One adult goes free for every 5 paying children, or 1:1 for children with SEN. Discount provided for parents attending with all children.

Clothing Requirements

Wellies/boots ideal, or trainers in dry Summer weather. Warm coats, gloves and hats required in Autumn/Winter months, suncream/ sunhats in hotter weather.

Large range of animal pens, featuring farm animals and animals from around the world. Opportunity to hand feed and pet many animals.

Marquee seating up to 70 for indoor picnic, with tables reserved for your allocated picnic time. Bouncy castle situated here also. Stage for use.
