What we offer on a school trip
Come and see for yourself why more than 350,000 people visit the Manchester United Museum and Tour every year! It really is something to savour... Bring your friends and family, organise a group trip or arrange an education visit - all are welcome to experience the greatest story ever told...
Immerse yourself in the history of the world's most famous club, experience the magnificent trophy room, test your skills on our interactives or just enjoy the atmosphere while behind the scenes at the legendary Theatre of Dreams?- it certainly is a day to remember.
Our Learning Experience is designed to support and complement the new National Curriculum and relevant learning standards. A typical session involves a tour of Old Trafford, an interactive workshop and time for individual learning within the Museum. Education groups are also able to use the exclusive Apollo pitch for tailored football training sessions with our accredited coach, or to hold their own five-a-side tournaments.
Our unique programme incorporates a visit to The Manchester United Museum, and a behind-the-scenes stadium tour of the world famous Old Trafford, including the home and away dressing rooms, press room and players tunnel, to give pupils a feel for life in the Premier League. Our interactive educational workshops have been developed around the history of our world famous football club and are conducted in our dedicated Learning Zone, within our award winning Museum.
The Learning Experience is available to groups of all ages, sizes, abilities and nationalities. Our experienced team have worked with groups from around the world, as well as those from closer to home and have TEFL qualifications to allow them to provide a world class learning experience to international groups. Visits can be tailored to the specific needs of the group, covering a relevant workshop and coaching session if required. Our Learning Team have experience in the classroom, including our Learning Manager Laura who spent several years as a teacher.
Four follow-up lesson ideas, designed to work with the National Curriculum are provided to teachers for continued learning back at school following your visit to the Theatre of Dreams.
Workshops at the Manchester United Museum are developed by our Learning Manager Laura Flint QTS, who spent five years as a teacher. Incorporating a variety of activities, the sessions are designed to provide a stimulus for learning outside of the classroom, across topics ranging from maths and history to journalistic writing and living in a diverse world.
