What we offer
We are passionate about the impact that Residentials and Outdoor Learning can have on young people.
Our main focus is on creating the right Residential to help you get the most out of your students.
Longrigg Xperience is Action4Youth's outdoor centre in the North of England. Standing in its own grounds and overlooking the unspoilt splendour of the Howgill Fells the centre has been running brilliant residential courses since 1988.
Situated within walking distance of Sedbergh, only 10 miles from Kendal and less than 10 minutes from the M6, Longrigg is an ideal location for exploring the Lakes and the Yorkshire Dales.
We offer a range of inspiring courses, co-designed with you to help you achieve your residential aims. Working in partnership, we can help with personal outcomes in areas such as:
Confidence and Character
Health and Well Being
Social and Emotional Awareness
Motivation and Engagement
We run courses based around curriculum areas such as Maths, English, Science, Geography and Languages.
We are particularly proud of our work helping to raise GCSE attainment but we believe that our residentials can have a profound impact on people at all stages of their learning. http://learningaway.org.uk/case-studies/raising-gcse-attainment-through-outdoor-residential-experiences/
Our mature staff are very experienced and well qualified in a wide range of activities and used to working with a broad spectrum of client groups.
Their expert task is to select the right challenge for the group giving each individual the level of support they need to succeed. This is followed up by reviewing the activity at appropriate times to help transfer the learning to other situations.
Come and Try It!
We are offering a free staff weekend at Longrigg 7 - 9 October 2016 where teachers and group leaders can see the facilities and try out the activities for themselves. Our staff are on hand to discuss how you might use our services to create the residential you are looking for. If you are interested in coming along to see for yourself then please get in touch:

Opening Hours & Information
All year round
She was timid and rarely contributed in class. The residential changed her in so many ways! Her confidence increased significantly with every activity she completed successfully. Her relationship with staff developed, she began contributing in the maths sessions, she began to believe in her own abilities, and by the end of the week she was a completely different student.

I feel really confident in the classroom now, even if I don?t know the answer it's something I can overcome, it's a challenge and now I know I can do any challenge I set my mind to. I might not get it right the first or second time but if I keep trying I will get there.

I was like, I can?t climb that mountain, then when I got to the top, I was like whoa, I did it! That made me feel like I could do anything.
