Dogs Trust is the largest dog welfare charity in the UK. As well as rehoming dogs from one of our 20 Rehoming Centres, a large part of our work is to focus on Responsible Dog Ownership and Safety Around Dogs education.

What we offer

Dogs Trust Education Officers are available to deliver FREE interactive and engaging workshops to primary schools throughout the UK. The key messages surround themes of Caring for Dogs', Responsible Dog Ownership' and How to Stay Safe Around Dogs'. They are linked to the National Curriculum supporting literacy, numeracy, citizenship, science and more!

What makes us a great choice?

We have a huge variety of fun, engaging and interactive workshops delivered by our dedicated team of Education Officers. All our workshops are tailored to meet the National Curricla for England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. Some of our Education Officers also have their own dogs that they can bring to meet you and your pupils for a truly unique interactive workshop experience.

Group Sizes Catered For

Ideally we can cater for:

7 - 11 year olds (max 1 class = 30 pupils)

Over 11 year olds, youth groups or kids with special needs = (max 15 pupils)

This is also flexible so just speak to your local officer.

Materials, Resources & Information Provided

We can send lesson plans and information to the teachers prior to the workshop. We have a whole website full of fun resources available for teacher to download.

All these resources and games can be found on http://www.learnwithdogstrust.org.uk/free-learning-resources/index.html. The Education Officers can also set homework for the children and hand out lesson packs.

Pricing Information

All our workshops are free of charge, as education is a huge part of solving the problem of stray and/or abandoned dogs. However, donations to the Rehoming Centre or fundraising is always welcomed.
