What are our Workshops like?

Icarus offers students the opportunity to unpick a Shakespearean play of your choice and explore how our professional company stages the Bard. This exciting and thorough examination of a Shakespeare play engages students in an interactive and performative experience. With strong links to the curriculum, particularly Drama, English and PSHE/Citizenship, Icarus uses drama to help students develop their understanding of the narrative, their inference skills, performance techniques and expand their vocabulary. Nurturing a love for all things Shakespeare and lifting his works from page to stage.

What makes us a great choice?

Icarus has over 10 years? experience delivering educational drama-orientated learning experiences. Our work with young people is challenging and empowering, with emphasis on encouraging collaboration; learning through getting up and doing, rather than just reading about drama. We tailor each of our offerings to the specific needs of the students and teachers we deal with, ensuring a unique learning experience for each school and every student. As well as consulting with leading organisations such as Time for Change on topic-based projects on Mental Health, we use curriculum stimulus as a driving force for exploration of subjects as well.

As well as our education work, we also tour professional shows across the UK and Ireland.

We are delighted to visit all schools of all kinds across the UK, we are eager to provide opportunities for those schools in rural areas without obvious access to the arts. Our offices are based in London. Please visit our website for more details: http://www.icarustheatre.co.uk/
